Elaine Hollingsworth and Dr. Mercola, among others, are down on flax oil too. So this Blaylock guy is not the only one.--- On Wed, 6/18/08, Tammatha <tammatha (AT) sonic (DOT) net> wrote:

Yes, your are right Rhoda, as I have said before it has helped me with estrogen dominance (via my bloodwork there is proof). I put two tablespoons of fresh ground flaxseed in my green smoothie everyday. I just don't get how he can make these statements.

Tammatha, I too am astounded and appalled that Blaylock so blithely states that flax seed is indigestible and useless. The Budwig program uses it extensively. It's been very well tested. Many studies to verify flax seed's usefulness. In fact, whole flax seed is better utilized than breaking it down to component parts, as Blaylock suggests. Also, MUCH less expensive RhodaBlaylock said, " omega-3 fats from flaxseed should be avoided, since humans cannotconvert them properly and they can, in fact, be harmful. The most powerful form of omega-3 oil is its DHA component, whichinhibits cancer in a number of ways. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA): This is a special type of fat thatreduces inflammation, lowers breast cancer development, and meltsvisceral fat. Gamma-Linoleic Acid (GLA): This is another potent anti-cancer oil, extracted from evening primrose or borage plants. Studies have shownthat it not only prevents breast cancer, it suppresses the growth ofexisting breast cancers. It can also enhance the effectiveness oftamoxifen against breast cancer.
