Are you using natural products on both your body and in the home? This would decrease greatly your exposure to chemicals that could be taxing your body. Also, what was your PH when you started. I ask this because even though 5.5 may not be what you want, if it was worse when you began, then you are improving. It may take a bit of time. Have you done any cleanses? If so what? Some foods that are known to alkalize the body are: wheat grass juice, noni, miso and umaboshi (sp?) plum. Guest guest
nobltn528 I like to eat prunes because: When prunes are dried, they are wonderful for the nearves because they contain a phosphorus content of nearly 5 percent. Prunes have a laxative effect. The dried prune is better to eat than the fresh prune or plum. The salts contained in the dried prune are valuable as food for the blood, brain, and nerves. Something in prunes causes your body to create new bone material!! snack to avoid osteoporosis!! Guest guest
Blueberries, cranberries and prunes are all very good for you (if organic, whole and unprocessed) – so keep eating them, just make sure you have much more fresh fruit and veg – preferably raw, so as to balance up the pH in your body. And yes, canola oil is to be avoided totally, along with all other veg oils except cold pressed virgin olive and coconut. The raw sugar to use is called rapidura – it is a whole food and still has the molasses in it, so is low GI. Guest guest
Melly, I think that may work if you are basically healthy. I sure make lemonade, added SB to vinegar or lemon, no change in low urine ph. That's why I now believe that low ph is an indicator of illness, and changing it artificially doesn't cure the illness. No scientific basis, just listening to my body. Rhoda
