I think they have to say that in order to protect themselves legally. Silver actually de-differentiates cells, meaning it can revert an abnormal cell back to normalcy. I also facilitates cell growth normally, and of course kills any known single celled organism on contact. It is also a very good anti-viral, and the smaller the particles the better as the ions will have to enter cells in order to destroy viral particles inside of them.
