Guest guest
Yesterday, someone on this list kindly helped me make organic oleander cuttings. I now have all the paraphernalia to make some, including a hot plate and heavy duty extension cord for doing it outdoors, so no toxic oils alight indoors. Raring to go! Just some clarification, please. When I'm initially done with reducing the volume, I think I understand that the volume of liquid will be roughly 1/3 of that put into the pot. Very rough, because it depends on how tightly the oleander was packed, how tight the lid, etc. A better way to tell is that the specific gravity of OS is .07 greater than water. I don't have a way to measure specific gravity yet, but will acquire one in time. I do have an accurate postal scale, so if I put a measured amount of water on the scale, and then the same volume of OS, if it weighs 7% more, is it correctly reduced? Do I have this right? Then, I would like to reduce this further. If I measure the volume, and reduce it to 1/3, would I take 1 teaspoon three times a day? Are my questions clear? Does anyone have additional helpful suggestions about how to do this? Even after filtering, I'm planning to just put some on my lip to see if there's a tingle. Then one drop to start. I'll have charcoal handy too, and maybe sit in the nearby hospital parking lot! I just discovered that I'm sensitive to the toxic oils; began to itch a few minutes after we finished cutting; on the arm above my gardening gloves. Long sleeves and extreme care for me! Excited about making my first batch, Rhoda
