Thank you everyone for the replies. I am so glad I asked. I had been debating over whether or not glycerine was included in vegan. I would have NEVER thought of bees wax. I saw a request for vegan lip gloss the other day. I wonder what hey made that out of. Thanks again! =c) ~Charla -- Bobbie <lostgirls wrote:

I second this.A truly vegan soap doesn't have any animal byproducts...no beeswax, no honey, no silk fiber. Even some colorants aren't certified vegan. Beer (I like this in shampoo bars) is not vegan. I to have found that this particular customer base likes as many organic, unrefined or low refined, "whole" ingredients as possible in their soaps and other preps. Let the natural ingredients of your soaps shine through and be glad all those golden, orange-y, greenish colors are in vogue right now.Good luck with your sales!Bobbie EastmanLost Girls Ranch Soaps n MoreRon & Pat Nuspl wrote:> A truly Vegan soap is completely vegetarian in source. Vegetable derived glycerin should be okay. If you are making your soap

from the ground up ( not M & P), then glycerin will occur naturally

naturally in your soaps - it's part of the saponification. We don't

separate it out - it is incorporated back into your soap during stir &

trace.

The lip gloss...I see a lot of butters, candellia wax, all kinds of

waxes being used. Coffee butter is real hot right now. I like to use

Mango. Candellia gives a nice " glide " . Sweet Almond, a little butter,

a little wax makes a nice lip balm. Drop the butter for a more liquid

gloss...

Hope this all helps,

Bobbie
