Mother and Child

SPIRIT of the WELL

by Roslyne Sophia Breillat

The world has forgotten Her, forgotten who She

is…

She is a circle, an orb spiralling through

space. She is the earth, the stars, the sky. She is strong, she is soft,

she is wild. She is unity. She is wholeness. She brings together, she

contains, she draws in. She nurtures and she gives. She forgives. She is

the receptacle of stillness within the flow of her rhythmic cycles.

Dianic Wicca

Ponderings

from Z Budapest

Imagine a spirituality whose essence is common

sense. Imagine a spirituality where community building and sisterhood is

amongst the women. A culture to live and work in that is vagina friendly.

Happy women … joy, joy!

Spirituality is so strong, to dominate the people you have to dominate

their inner-life. If this is achieved you can fleece them, sell them

salvation, sell them martyrdom, self sacrifice, devaluing their own life.

Sell them death. What is it with our species so susceptible to stories?

Wisdom Keeper

Wild Cat Tales

by JoAnne Dodgson

Just as I was about to step around the

gate to enter the forest trail, I caught a glimpse of something tied to the

metal post. It was a handmade sign with bold black letters typed neatly on

a sheet of white paper and taped to a brown cardboard square. “Mountain

Lion Sighting. Please Beware.†I stopped to consider the warning, wondering

about the circumstances of the sighting that had occurred just the day

before.

Yarrow & Osha

Herbal Adventures with

Susun S Weed

by Susun S. Weed

as seen printed in SageWoman magazine

For those just joining us, I am traveling

through Provence in the Luberon mountains on horseback. My fannypack holds

three herbal remedies -- St. Joan's wort oil to prevent sunburn, yarrow

tincture to repel insects and heal wounds, and osha tincture

in case I am stung or bitten by a venomous creature. The rest of my

first-aid kit is in my luggage at an inn ahead of us, where I will have

access to it before I go to sleep.

Anti-Cancer Lifestyle

Living Generously, the Wise

Woman Way

by Susun S Weed

as seen printed in Branches magazine

Living generously is a theme that plays loudly

in many women's lives. As women, our social conditioning -- and often the

impulse of our hearts -- is to live generously by giving generously. And we

give the one thing we have assured access to: ourselves. Generosity flows

though us and through our lives. We give to friends, mates, children,

community, even needy strangers. Many women live generously by literally

giving themselves away. But don't we need to be generous to ourselves as

well to say that we are truly living generously?

Goddess Speaks

The Herring Gulls’ Blessing

by Catherine Bastedo

The summer day we rescued the Herring Gull was

memorable, and the visit of the gulls the next day even more so. My

daughters, then 8 and 3, had come running up the hill to the cottage in

great excitement, and could barely get the words out to tell us what was

wrong. When I ran down, I found a Herring Gull lying still on the rocky

shore, wings folded. A length of nylon fishing line was tightly wound

around its beak, keeping it shut, and a few ants were crawling along its

back. The gulls’ eyes were closed. Another fish line trailed out from the

top of its head and one from its back. The poor gull seemed to have made

its way to shore to die.

Grandmother Gaia

VAGINAL DISTRESS

part 2

by Susun Weed

" Don’t try to sit on your distress,

dearest daughter, " cautions Grandmother Growth. " It will prove to

be a hot, itchy, prickly, miserable seat, I can promise you.

" When you try to deny what upsets you,

when you sugarcoat your rage and drug your anxieties away, when you use

your sexuality to please others and never to please yourself, when you are

there for everyone but ignore your own needs, when you fear for your

existence and the well-being of those you care for, your vagina gets

distressed too.

Healing Wise

Pine Keeps You Fine

by Susun S Weed

as seen printed in Mystic Pop Magazine

If you live in any of the temperate regions of

the world, whether at sea level or high in the mountains, some pine tree is

likely to be growing very near you. If you live in the desert, you may have

to get to the mountains before you find a pine. But wherever you live,

north or south, east or west, so long as it isn't the tropics, you will

find pine trees. And since they are evergreen, you can find them easily

right now, in the deep of winter, when deciduous trees are bare of leaves.

So the next time you take a walk or go for a drive, be on the look out for

pines.
