Not only has it benn highly recommended as a diuretic for stimulation of the kidneys, but also as a mild laxative and as a sedative for the nervous system. It has also been recommended for cases of enlarged heart and for conditions involving accumulation to an excessive degree of fluids in tissues and in the body cavities.
