Guest guest
I just received 5 lbs of Shea butter. I made a cream last fall for my extremely dry skin with Shea butter, Calphyllum and Lavender. I am looking to do some thing different. Any and all suggestions welcome, well dealing with the subject matter, I forget there are some feisty people out there. Ha! Also I am looking for some solid perfume base recipes. Thank all you creative beings in advance. Janet ---------- " May those that love us love us. And those that do not love us, May the good Lord turn their hearts. Guest guest
Hello Janet Being a massage therapist as well- I love to make a " deep tissue massage cream " with shea and infused st johns wort (olive oil) as the main ingredients, I also add coconut oil, beeswax and appropriate essential oils- I usually make two " flavors " - one for relaxation(true lavender, mandarin, roman cham, etc.) and one that is " therapeutically specific " with spike lavender, german cham, helichrysum, blue cypress(callitris) etc. The texture is great for myofascial work, etc.- and both my clients and I love it.(I also use it as a body butter) Michelle - Janet Golden <janetkgolden Sunday, October 14, 2001 11:21 AM Re: Looking for Ideas > I just received 5 lbs of Shea butter. Guest guest
Hiya Michelle! I too, make massage either oils or cremes, depending on what's needed..... quick question - where are you finding the blue cypress oil - if you don't mind my asking....I can't seem to find it anywhere.... and have heard some really wonderful things about it! As for the massage cremes you use, they sound great - I have several blends I use and am always open to new ones.. since different clients require different blends... though the two that you just mentioned sound really wonderful! Take care, Hugs, Marilyn (figuring we all need hugs since the world's kinda crazy right bout now......)! michelle morton- niyama wrote: > Hello Janet > > Being a massage therapist as well- I love to make a " deep tissue massage > cream " > with shea and infused st johns wort (olive oil) as the main ingredients, I > also add > coconut oil, beeswax and appropriate essential oils- I usually make two > " flavors " - one for relaxation(true lavender, mandarin, roman cham, etc.) and > one that is " therapeutically specific " with spike lavender, german cham, > helichrysum, blue cypress(callitris) etc. The texture is great for > myofascial work, etc.- and both my clients and I love it.(I also use it as a > body butter) > > Michelle > - > Janet Golden <janetkgolden > > Sunday, October 14, 2001 11:21 AM > Re: Looking for Ideas > > > I just received 5 lbs of Shea butter. Guest guest
BTW When I buy shampoo and conditioner I buy the plain scented ones so I can add lavender, peppermint and rosemary for the conditioner and peppermint and tea tree oil for the shampoo. We have 1 kid that seems to have friends every yr get or give her head lice so that is what I do to the shampoo for her hair and I have her leave it on for a few secs . I just add 1-2 drops of each scent depending on the size of the bottle. We all have such silky and shiny hair. Helaine

I know the " got to clean up part " I have been saying for a year I was going to put all my recipes, formula and ideas on the computer well I never said when I would get that completed. Yesterday, I put Shea butter with a few drops of Rosemary all over my hair wrapped it in plastic wrap and a towel for about 1 hour and shampooed it out. My hair is long and has some curl that usually after sleeping requires careful brushing because of the little " rats nest " knots, this morning, my fingers, the comb sailed through with no snags. Oh I get excited like a little child. ((Hugs)) Janet >Hugs, > >Marilyn > >Janet Golden wrote: > > > I just received 5 lbs of Shea butter. Guest guest
Hello all I just got off the phone with my MIL and she has asked me to see if I can find any natural remedies or ideas to help her and her husband. She has exhausted herself caring for my ill FIL and she is having trouble shaking yet another bug of some sort. My FIL has been battling cancer for the last 4 years and is worn out and tired from the chemo treatments. is there anything they could take that would help boost the immune system and help give them a bit more energy. I know that MIL could use something that would help with her mood, as she is depressed but won't admit it. I already suggested some St John's Wort tea to her and she said she'll see if she can find some in her area. thanks in advance Tia Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
"is there anything they could take that would help boost the immune system and help give them a bit more energy." If you just want to focus on killing the "bug," the best natural cure on the market (according to the advertising anyway) is covalent silver. Silver is well-known as an antibiotic that targets bad bacteria as well as viruses. You may have heard of colloidal silver before, but covalent silver is supposed to be thousands of times better. I wrote "according to the advertising" because I have never tried this product myself, nor known anyone who's tried it. You can find information at innerspiritdetox.com or healthnorm.com. If you purchase some, please let me know if it works. Guest guest
<<<<is there anything they could take that would help boost the immune system and help give them a bit more energy. >> Try Astragalus Root. It's what we use, & I highly recommend it. Buying it in its sliced form, it looks like a tongue depressor. I use 1/2 piece & simmer it in a few cups of water for several hours; we then drink sips throughout the day, & I also put a piece in any winter stew or soup that is simmering on the stove. Remember to remove it from a bowl if it gets ladled in. Just put it back in the pot.
