This plant is associated with bears and is thought to possess the power of purification. Ramsons is used to cleanse the blood. Ramsons belongs to the lily family. It has a very garlicky smell. It is native to Europe and Asia and likes shady areas best. The leaves, flowers and bulbs are the parts used medicinally for juices, tonics, tinctures, and food. Ramsons has allyl oil, which is antiseptic and antibiottic. Many herbalists substitute regular garlic and onions, since ramsons is not indigenous to the US.
