To prepare the mold, wrap plasticaround the loofah sponge, leaving one end exposed; secure with masking tape. Place loofah in the gallon-sized plastic bag, againwrappign and taping to secure. Stand loofah in a glass with theunwrapped end on top.2. Cut the soap into small chunks. Place 1 pound of chunks in a double boiler and heat on medium high heat. Do not let boil and neverlave unattended. Note: Soap may be melted in a microwave, however, this project requires a lower heat and a double boiler helps tocontrol the temperature. Heat until melted stirring occasionally. 3. Remove soap from heat. Add 1 ounce of honey almond scent and stiruntil blended. Repeat to add 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds. Slowlypour the soap into the loofah mold. Immediately turn the loofah over and pour any soap that did not absorb back into the pan. Repeatadding melted soap to the loofah sponge and pouring off excess untilno melted soap drips from the sponge. Let cool.4. Melt the remaining soap and remove from heat. Add lemom scent, 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds and one-quarter of the yellow solid soapcolor, stirring after each addition until well blended. Pour soap tothe top of the loofah mold. Note: Since loofah sizes vary, adjustamount of soap accordingly; if more is necessary, continue adding in 1/2 pound increments or until hardened.Remove plastic wrap and slice into 3/4 to 1 inch slices. If desired, tie with jute cord. Wrap slices individually in plastic until readyto use.
