Guest guest
When I was little and had a swollen ankle, my grandparents always has us grade up a raw potato into a small towel and wrap it around the swollen area. , " Mystical " <mysticalpanthr wrote: > > Hi everyone I have a swollen foot and i have no idea why i know that > it was hurting me last week and I ended up limping on it becuz my foot > hurt so bad. the pain is on the inside of my foot only but now it > feels very swollen and I am still limping - is there anything besides > table salt that I could use to take the swelling down - i don't see > anything infection anywhere so I know that table salt won't do me any > good...or should i take it up with my Dr. on friday when I go in > > Mystical Panthr >
Guest guest
Hello, I would see a Doctor to make sure there are no hairline fractures firstly (I've done that). Also, standard for swelling is icing the ankle indirectly 20 minute durations combined with elevation (bestly above the level of the heart), keep off of it as much as possible. Interestingly, years ago when my husband had a bad sprain to his ankle, I wrapped it in witch hazel and water (50/50) soaked thin cloths. He said that it helped with the pain, also the swelling did recede. Now he asks for the witch hazel wraps whenever he has injuries of that type. Sorry, I do not remember my source for that remedy.
