Guest guest
Once we started using organic dairy products from the health store or neighbors, the dairy issues we had went away. IMO anything like eggs or dairy that are on the shells of regular non organic food carrying stores for weeks, are to be avoided since there is something wrong with foods that can stay on a grocery shelf for weeks. ~Beth Beths Path
Guest guest
Beth You're right of course, but think about the animal byproducts in conventional chicken feed. Or about the steady stream of anti=biotics given to conventional dairy cows to prevent them from getting sick, preventing their milk from entering our food supply. If the dairy farmers were just required to keep their living conditions clean, they wouldn't need preventative antibiotics. I know everyone's heard of hydrogenated oils, well think of homogenized milk the same way. It's altered, not in the natural state, and is harder for your body to process. The fat and milk globules have been mechanically bonded. You never see milk from the conventional grocery separate and have cream on the top. I know that organic food is more expensive, but think of this way, it's better to spend the money on the things that you eat now, than on expensive medical bills later. Like when you're retiring, and one Medi-Care, on a fixed income, etc. Ok I'm passing the soap box on to the next person. Guest guest
We have our own lab & test all the milk before it gets packaged... If any cow is on any meds, she gets a leg tag so we know what cows to not milk, plus her milk gets tested again to make sure all of the meds are out of her system before going back in with the rest of the milk... And I agree, there are some dairy farmers that really need to step up on keeping their places a lot clearner... We can't stand to go to other farms and see all the gunk that we see and they are approved by the state to milk... If our farm ever got that bad, then one of us has passed on if not both..... The homoginzed milk here gets the vitiamins put in it, and all milk is pasturized... ---- cntrylily 12/28/2006 3:14:04 PM Re: Dairy issues Beth You're right of course, but think about the animal byproducts in conventional chicken feed.
