Guest guest
Hi there! I'm curious as to why you have to avoid dairy, is it al dairy, or could it just be cows milk, and products that should be avoided? A lot of people find that goat milk agrees with them when cows doesn't. Just a suggestion since I don't know the root pf the problem. I'm going to send a few links that will hopefully be helpful. Guest guest
Stevia is a very good natural sweetener, I don't like artificial sweeteners because they don't leave your system, and are stored in the kidneys. Your body simply doesn't excrete them like it does everything else. If you have a Whole Foods Market nearby, they have a great selection of Stevia's even flavored ones. It's more expensive at first glance, but it takes such a small amount that it's actually a good buy in the long run. In a message dated 12/28/2006 3:16:15 P.M. This includes Splenda which is supposed to be better for you than aspartame. My daughter can handle processed sugar (that bleached white stuff) but she does well with honey or organic evaporated cane juice. A friend of mine (who struggles with candida) uses agave as a sweetner and loves it. You may have to experiment to find what works for you. Guest guest
having been on a special diet for years, I hope that I can help. You are welcome to contact me off list if you want to. While going gluten free and dairy free can be overwhelming at first, it's not impossible. First off, I suggest you look up websites for Celiac as they often will have lists for what contains the bad glutens for you, and what things to watch for, like the hidden names of stuff. Going dairy free is a little easier I think as they aren't as many hidden names for milk products, but again, a good website will have details for you. If you like, I can check my list of sites and forward them to you. in the beginning you'll need to do a lot from scratch as it is just easier than trying to wrap your head around labels at the store. Make yourself a cheat sheet and bring it with you and make sure it contains as complete a list as possible for what you can't have. Find a good health food store as many of them have great options for people with food intolerances. There are also lots of websites now that sell gluten free products. also, a good support group is beyond is weight in gold. I can recommend one on - living wheat and gluten free - that I belong to and we are always sharing tips and recipes and basically, just being there for each other. We all know how hard it is to go this route and I know that a lot of us on that group can help you a lot. also, if you are going off sugar, be careful of artificial sweetners - many people with food intolerances just can't tolerate them well.
