Hi Sandi,

I have been playing with lots of body butter recipes lately. The one that I

like the best as far as fluffy consistency that melts right away is the

following.

2 parts shea butter

1 part virgin coconut oil

1/2 part liquid oil (rosehip, evening primrose or whatever)You can skip this

one to if you like a thicker consistency.

If the shea is not grainy then what I do is nuke it just to warm it, not

melt it. Then I whip the heck out of it with a hand mixer. Add the oils

and keep on beating. I have used refined and unrefined shea (Ghana Gold)

and like both in this recipe. If you want something a little " waxier " that

holds up well in the jar and coats more like a balm then try adding a little

soy wax to the mix. Of course you would have to melt it and then your

butters might melt too.

Good luck with it!

Body Butter Recipe

This recipe makes 3 fl. ounces

4 Tablespoons shea butter

2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil

This Body Butter is one of my favorites. Apply it to your arms, legs,

hands and feet. Your body will feel soft and smooth for hours. This

is a perfect product for rough elbows and knees.

Simply heat the shea butter and olive oil in the microwave for 1 and

a half minutes or until the shea butter is completely dissolved.

Remove from the microwave and allow to set for a half hour. After a

half hour, add your vitamin E. Stir well and let set for 12 hours.

Stir again after 12 hours before pouring into your decorative

containers for resale. Within 24 to 48 hours this body butter will

become a solid and you will no longer be able to pour it into other

containers. This product has a 1 year shelf life.
