*Citrus Potpourri*

The season is light, fresh, and green and this citrus potpourri echoes that mood. Most of the ingredients can be dried at home and you should only need to buy the oils, the gum benzoin, coriander seeds and dried lemon grass.

2 oz (50 g) dried marigold petals

2 oz (50 g) dried lemon verbena leaves

1 oz (25 g) dried lemon grass

1 oz (25 g) dried lemon peel

1 oz (25 g) dried grated lemon rind

1 oz (25 g) coriander seeds

1 oz (25 g) gum benzoin (fixative)

15 drops lime essential oil

10 drops lemon essential oil

5 drops rose geranium essential oil

5 drops bergamot essential oil

4 sprigs dried mimosa

5-10 dried daffodil or narcissus heads

2-3 pieces dried orange peel

*Makes approximately 9 oz (250 g) of potpourri*

Mix the marigold petals, lemon verbena leaves, lemon peel and lemon grass in a large china bowl. Place the lemon rind, coriander seeds and gum benzoin in a mortar and grind thoroughly. Add the oils to the mixture in the mortar and blend well. Combine the two mixtures together in the large bowl. Store in a lidded dish and stir twice a week. Allow six weeks for the mixture to cure. To display, pour the potpourri into a wide dish and scatter with mimosa, daffodils and orange peel.
