Guest guest
Basic Baby Oil Submitted by: Melanie Ingredients: 4 oz Olive Oil Directions Use other oils you may have on hand, although I would stay away from nut-based oils - there is a chance of allergic reaction. Nighty Night Baby Oil Submitted by: Melanie Ingredients: 4 oz Olive Oil 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil Directions Pour ingredients into a bottle for easy application. Shake well before use. Olive oil soaks into the skin well, and is quite gentle. Lavender EO is known to be relaxing - a massage with this is great for a bedtime routine. Baby Bottom Oil Submitted by: Melanie Ingredients: 4 oz Olive or Apricot Oil Calendula Petals Directions Place some calendula petals in the oil of your choice, and let stand on a sunny windowsill for a week or two. If you would like to speed things up, try microwaving for a minute or two, avoiding boiling. Strain the calendula petals from the oil. Calendula is known to be very healing, and has been wonderful for my son. Baby Wipes Submitted by: Melanie Ingredients: 1/4 cup Aloe Vera Juice 4 drops Lavender Essential Oil 1/2 roll Paper Towels (length-wise) 1/4 cup Water 2 drops Tea Tree Oil Directions Mix the ingredients together and shake well. Paper towels should be placed in the container you plan on using. If you can't find a container to fit, try cutting the roll in half the other way - and folding the pieces left behind into an old wipes container. Pour mixture over the paper towels and whalah! I don't use shampoo in my wipes recipe because I don't leave shampoo on myself, so why would I leave it on my baby? It's really only necessary to clean with water, although I have to say I enjoyed this recipe. Diaper Rash Salve Submitted by: Melanie Ingredients: 4 oz Olive or Apricot Oil 1 - 2 oz Beeswax or wax of choice 1 oz Calendula Petals Directions Infuse the calendula petals into the oil (let it sit in the windowsill for a week or two) or heat it until the properties from the calendula have steeped into the oil. Strain the petals from the oil. Mix the oil and beeswax together, stirring while melting the beeswax on low heat. Pour mixture into a container, and let cool. For a softer balm, use less wax. For a harder balm, use more.
