Guest guest Posted August 10, 2006 Report Share Posted August 10, 2006 Hair Conditioner Mix 1/2 cup honey and 1/4 cup olive oil. (Use 2 Tbsp.s oil for normal hair.) Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on for 30 minutes. Remove shower cap; shampoo well and rinse. Dry as normal. Herbal Shampoo 1 oz. Soapwort, 1-1/2 pints of water, 1 oz. of herbs of choice (based on what type of shampoo) Put boiling water on the dried soapwort and soak overnight. Bring mixture to boil (in an enamel pan) and simmer, covered for about 15 - 20 minutes. Stir in herbs, and store it, covered, until it is cool enough to use. Strain before using. Note: Use Marsh mallow for dry hair Peppermint/Lavender for oily hair Marigold/Calendula for red hair Chokeberry Rinse Make a decoction from chokeberry bark and use to rinse and strengthen hair. Soapwort Shampoo Powder the root and mix with hot water. Use as a shampoo for dandruff and itchy scalp.
