A Meditative TeaPay a visit to your herb garden this morning. From the plants growingthere, choose the ones that contain sedative and calming qualities. Itmay be only one (Lemon Balm, for instance) or a few herbs that answer toyour request. Thank them for their contribution to your health.Take a few leaves from one or from each of the following, tear them upgently and place in a medium-sized teapot. Heat up some fresh water to aboil, and add to your herbs. Leave to steep/infuse for 15 minutes forthe full flavour of all those healing phytochemicals to combine, thensettle yourself into your favourite chair and sip gently. This is a "meditative tea" ~ it soothes the mind while at the same timegently heightens your senses. It's rejuvenating!Sage ~ Salvia officinalisEvening Primrose ~ Oenothera biennisMugwort ~ Artemisia vulgarisSelf-Heal ~ Prunella vulgarisLemon Thyme ~ Thymus vulgarisLemon Balm ~ Melissa officinalisSpearmint ~ Mentha spicataClover ~ Trifolium repensCatnip ~ Nepeta catariaStrawberrry ~ Fragaria vesca or F. virginianaYes, I did say leaves, not flowers. The majority of plants whosemedicinal properties are valued highly contain them in the whole plant, not just the flowers. Evening Primrose is a good example. The Quercetinin the leaves is the highest of any herb, yet people still think thatEvening Primrose has all its healing qualities in the seeds. For fullmaximum benefit, it's best to use not only the seeds, but the leaves, the stalk and the root, if available.© Stella Raymonde Savoie JohnsonHerbals for healing~*~herbwriter (AT) soulopen (DOT) com<http://health.HeadStuff/post?postID=iyTyClJhTztEAV6H_a5--3YNlGooPCmtFSVO7dLz7udQPIPvSZLx4d5rMTCz2H6JT5zXu60_x6zHeSXXT1HXl_y5>Free SoulZine at:http://she.soulopen.com
