Guest guest
Perfumers alcohol is probably your best bet for replacing vodka. Especially if you plan on distributing/selling/marketing a product, especially across state lines. The FDA & other govt officials have rules against transporting/selling alcohol ( consumable - no matter what it's mixed with) without the proper licenses. If you are making tinctures, look into using a good vinegar. I use organic, unrefined apple cider vinegar for quite a few tinctures and tonics. Also, a good switch (there are no substitutes, as we learned on the bus) for Olive Oil is Rice Bran Oil. You could probably use many different oils in your recipes, but it would depend on the qualities you want to bring forth. Each oil has its own characteristic to bring to a product. Soapnuts.com library has a good chart on oil properties, as do several other sites. HTH, Bobbie
