Hi Tracy,

I assume you mean by " essential oil dosages " you're referring to how

much in general each type of oil should be diluted before use?

The best place I know online to get such guidelines is the IFRA's web

site:

http://www.ifraorg.org/ - Look under the heading " Codes and Standards "

Also, I highly recommend Martin Watt's book " Plant Aromatics " . It is an

essential reference in any library for folks who work with essential

oils and aromatic plant materials

I hope that helps some :)

Does anyone have a good site where you can get essential oil dosages? I

find it difficult knowing how much to use. Some are more than others.

Thanks

USING ESSENTIAL OILS

Aromatherapy can sound very complicated, and it's true

that if you are using essential oils as remedies for physical

conditions you need to have experience and caution is

always very important. But there are essential oils that

can be used easily and safely.

TEA TREE OIL

Tea Tree oil is well known for being antiseptic and healing. Add it to a spray bottle with water--I use a few drops tea

tree oil, 2-3 lemon oil, 2-3 orange oil and 3-4 lavender in

a 1 quart spray bottle. I use it in the kitchen and bathroom to wipe off the counters, toilets, tub, shower, stove and the refrigerator.

LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL

Lemon essential oil is another of my favorites. It's one of the oils that is less expensive and easy to find. It's refreshing and

can be added to many things around your home:

-Add a few drops to your dish soap.

-Add 2 drops to the soap dispenser of the dishwasher along

with your regular soap.

-Use a few drops to the bucket of water you use to wash floors.

-Place 2 drops on a cotton ball and add it to your vacuum bag for a lovely scent as you vacuum.

-Fill a small spray bottle with water and add 4-5 drops of oil.

Use this as an air freshener.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

I can't imagine NOT using lavender essential oil. It's soothing

and comforting scent has been known to lull a restless mind

to sleep and calm children and adults alike.

Use in place of the lemon oil in the tips above plus try these: A few drops of lavender essential oil on a handkerchief tucked

into a drawer will keep your socks and underwear drawers

fresh.

-Place a few drops on an older handkerchief (it may stain) or

a cotton ball in your drawers.

-Add 2-3 drops of oil to a cotton ball or one the cotton make-up

pads and place it inside your pillowcase at bedtime.

-Add 2-4 drops into a tablespoon of olive or sweet almond oil

and then add to a warm bath.

-Add 4-5 drops to a cup of vinegar and rinse your hair.
