Guest guest
Change Your Life With Color Therapy Color is energy. It is a vibration, a frequency. It is a gentle, subtle power. The power of color is the very essence of life. Color is one of the greatest experiences that we take for granted in our lives every day. It surrounds us everywhere we go. All the colors in our environment have subconscious effects on our moods, actions, relationships and well being. We can use color to create wellness and contentment, ease stress, create passion or anger, to express joy or seriousness and so much more. Color Therapy, also known as Chromatherapy or Light Therapy, is based on a simple theory. In the early 19th century it was discovered that each color vibrates on its own wavelength and frequency. Our body absorbs color energy through the vibration the color gives off. Every person has seven energy centers in their body and each center is governed by one of the seven energy colors. These energy centers are also known as chakras. All organs, body systems, and functions are connected to these main energy centers. Color Therapy treatment is often determined by which area of the body is affected. As with all holistic healing methods, color therapy focuses on getting to the root of the problem rather than just treating symptoms as with the conventional medicine approach. But because of the simplicity of the theory behind color therapy, you can easily start reaping the benefits yourself, just by changing the colors you wear, in your home and if possible, your work environment. Following is a brief description of the seven different colors, their energies and examples of the effects certain colors have on the body: Red - Promotes vitality, courage, and self confidence. Red stimulates and excites the nerves and the blood. It is a liver energizer and is good for the muscular system and the left cerebral brain hemisphere. From a psychological viewpoint, red stimulates, excites, and acts as an irritant. Red is the color that governs the first chakra. Orange - The best emotional stimulant for promoting joy and happiness. It creates a general sense of well being and cheerfulness. Orange stimulates the thyroid gland and is a respiratory stimulant. Orange is the color that governs the second chakra. Yellow - Gives us clarity of thought, increases awareness and stimulates interest and curiosity. Related to the ability to perceive and understand. Yellow activates the motor nerves and generates energy for the muscles. Yellow carries positive magnetic currents which strengthen the nerves and aid the brain. It has a stimulating, cleansing and elimination action on the liver, intestine and the skin as well as purifying the bloodstream. Yellow governs the third chakra. Green - Cleanses and balances our energy, gives a feeling of renewal, peace and harmony. Green connects us to unconditional love and is used for balancing our whole being. Green is the color of nitrogen, which is the largest component of the atmosphere; it builds muscle, bones and other cell tissues. Green acts upon our sympathetic nervous system; it relieves tension in the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. The color of energy and new life and ruler of the fourth chakra. Blue - A mentally relaxing color, blue has a pacifying effect on the nervous system and is great for relaxation and sleep problems. Blue contracts the arteries, veins and capillaries and thereby raises the blood pressure. Blue has antiseptic properties and is bactericidal as well as being anti-carcinogenic. Blue rules the fifth chakra. Indigo - This color is related to our connection to our unconscious self and gives us the experience of being part of the whole universe. Strengthens intuition, imagination, psychic powers and increases dream activity. Linked to the spiritual body rather than the physical and ruler of the sixth chakra. Violet - Purifies our thoughts and feelings giving us inspiration. The violet energy connects us to our spiritual self, bringing wisdom and inner strength. Enhances artistic talent and creativity. Also linked to the spiritual body rather than the physical and ruler of the seventh chakra. Color therapy provides healing from within. The various colors affect the different systems in the body in different ways and the stronger the color, the greater its effect. Just becoming aware of how different colors make you feel and choosing colors that appeal to you can change the quality of your life, reduce your stress levels and even make you feel better physically. *** source unknown to me...
