Add a drop to your babies bath before bedtime for a calming and restful sleep. Compress Add a few drops of essential oils to a warm wet compress. Essential oils compresses will promote circulation, rejuvenation, produce a more youthful and glowing complexion. Compresses also bring relief and comfort to skin and first aid care. Compresses also help relieve itchiness for eczema and psoriasis. Direct Adding a single drop of your favorite essential oil to your bodies pulse points will create a natural perfume. Remember - essential oils should not be used undiluted over large areas of skin. Aromatherapy can be used to aid in skincare & treat infections such as acne, skin repair, scarring, insect bites and stings as well as infections, cuts and scraps. Used in massage oils can create a relaxing, rejuvenating and stress-free experience, restoring comfort to your body and mind. Inhalation & Vaporization Add a few drops of a diffuser, burning for only 5-7 minutes at one time. Create an atmosphere in your favorite room in the house that will enable you to create a specific mood. Adding a few drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water create healing aromatic vapors. Depending on the essential inhaled, you can clear congestion, relax for release mental fatigue and stress. Massage By adding a few drops of your favorite essential oils to vegetable or carrier oils and massaging on your skin will help relax your tired aching muscles. The inhalation from the oils during the massage will create a calming effect for your mind and body. Suggested Uses for Essential Oils Essential oil is the pure essence of a single plant and steam distillation is still the most widely used method of extraction. Every plant has its own unique signature - be they herbs, spices, resins, leaves or flowers. Only about 300 of all the plant species render essential oil. Essential oils have been used since the days of the ancients for their healing, balancing and for perfuming. They may be used on many levels - mind, body, spirit and emotionally. The benefits that come from blending the different oils is endless. Our essential oils are chosen for the high quality and purity. The oils that we carry are therapeutic grade, and all natural. We offer only the choicest oils. They are all high quality, pure, and derived from named botanical species. The oils may be used in the following suggested ways: Bath Simply add 5 to 15 drops of our essential oil to your warm. Use dispersant. Soak for up to 20 minutes allowing the oil to penetrate the skin while enjoying the luxurious vapors. Choose oils to suit your mood. Rosemary to get you going in the mornings. Ylang Ylang and Lavender to relax you in the evenings. Mints rejuvenate, citruses refresh. Spiced oils should be avoided in the bath. Massage Add 10 to 25 drops of your favorite essential oil to every 1 ounce (30 ml) of Massage base oil (aloe vera oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil) or to your favorite moisturizing lotion. Choose any oil to suit your condition or mood: Chamomile and Lavender to help with the effects of stress. Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang, or Patchouli for a sensual massage. Juniper & Rosemary for sore muscles. Foot baths Juniper, Mint & Tea Tree Compresses Chamomile & Lavender for eyes, Juniper, Tea Tree & Lavender for boils Mouthwash DO NOT SWALLOW. Fresh breath: Mints & Lemon, Oral Infections: Tea Tree (essential oil only) Perfume Essential oils have always been used as perfumes - either alone or in blended together. You can use them simply for pleasure or to reinforce the effectiveness of your other aromatherapy treatments. Try blending oils. Use 3 drops of sandalwood, 3 drops of rosewood, 2 drops of ylang ylang and 1 drop of patchouli in 1 oz (30 ml) of base blend for a sensual scent. For a masculine scent for men, try Patchouli, Sandalwood and Cedarwood in moisturizer for shaving. Skin cremes Dry skin: Geranium, Lavender, Orange, Sandalwood, Tangerine. Allergies: Chamomile. Cracked skin: Frankincense. Inflamed skin: Clary Sage, Tea Tree, Chamomile, Lavender, Geranium Inhalations Add 4 to 8 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to a bowl of very warm water and place your face near the bowl. Cover your head and the bowl with a towel. Inhale fully and very deeply using the nose and the mouth. This is an excellent treatment for complaints of a respiratory type. On handkerchief: few drops of Eucalyuptus helps clear sinus; Peppermint for headaches, Lavender for tension Scented Rooms For a very nice yet subtle effect, use a light bulb ring or a candle. This is also helpful in stuffy homes or offices that utilize central heat. Try Rosemary or Eucalyptus to kill infectious bacteria that may be in the air from coughing or sneezing. Lemon helps to clear smoke and other unpleasant odors and create a nice atmosphere. Purchase a small spray bottle and use 10 drops per ounce of water to use as a natural alternative for a room freshener. Essential combinations: Meditation: Sandalwood & Rose, Mental Fatigue: Ylang Ylang, Basil & Rosemary, Office Freshener: Bergamot, Lavender & Tea Tree Vaporization Fill a potpourri burner with warm water and light the candle. Add to the water 5-7 drops of your favorite essential oil . Never leave lamps or burners unattended. You can also use a fragrance lamp oil. If these things are not available then simply add a few drops to a lit candle! This will fragrance the room and change the atmosphere dramatically. If you or someone in your family is ill this process cleanses the air and helps boost the immune system. Use the oils that have anti bacterial , anti viral properties. Always remember if in doubt use lavender! Hair Essential oils are excellent beauty aids which help to condition the scalp which in turn produces healthy hair. For very dry and damaged hair try Ylang Ylang and Sandalwood and Chamomile. Add 5 drops or less of oil to 10 ml warm massage oil massage into the scalp; wrap in a warm towel and relax for 20 minutes in an aromatically scented bath for added relaxation! Shampoo out. Try adding an oil of your choice to any conditioning shampoo product. For oily hair try Chamomile As a tonic use Rosemary and Sandalwood. For a beautiful shine use the citrus oils Lemon and grapefruit. Dark Hair: Rosemary & Rosewood, Light Hair: Chamomile & Lemon Skin & Face Care Mixing ratio: up to 5 to 10 drops to every 10 ml carrier oil or beauty product. Essential oils are fabulous beauty tools. They encourage the activity of the glands just under the skin. The sebaceous glands begin to function more effectively. This is the key to beautiful skin, good glandular activity. Overall you will see a marked improvement in a short time with the regular use of certain essential oils. For normal skin use Cedarwood, Lavender, Patchouli, and Rosewood. For dry skin try Geranium, Lavender, Palmarosa, Cedarwood and Sandalwood. For oily skin use Lemon, Mint, Orange, Rosemary and Tea Tree. For more mature skin experiment with Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Neroli. Sensitive skins should use Chamomile and Lavender, Rosewood, and Sandalwood. Add a few drops of Chamomile and Lavender to your favorite beauty products, you will see a difference in just a few days. A great way to extend the life of your oils and do something wonderful for your skin is the use of pure vegetable glycerine. Mix 10 ml of pure vegetable glycerine and your favorite essential oils. Add this to your favorite moisturizer and you have a fantastic easy to do herbal spa treatment in the palm of your hand! The oils can be used singularly or in combinations. Simply choose the oils to suit your skin type. Drawer liners & Padded Clothes Hangers Eucalyptus & Cedarwood repel moths and insects, fragrances freshen with favorite scent Babies & Children Essential oils can be very beneficial to babies and children as long as they are used with care. Always dilute the essential oil before applying to the skin or adding to the bath. For babies use only one drop of oil to 10 ml of base oil: for children use half the amount an adult would use. Try Lavender 1 drop on a pillow at night to encourage sleep. Chamomile diluted in a carrier oil and rubbed on a colicky tummy will help alleviate pain and stress very quickly. Hyperactivity can be calmed with Chamomile. Baby Bath Time Add 1-2 drops of Lavender to a bath. Diffusers and Diffuser Oils The burning of fragrant wood and herbs was one of the earliest means of experiencing the effects of aromatic vapors. Today it is much easier using essential oil burner. We can experience the change in emotions and memories by the underestimated act of the sense of smell. Place a wax lamp or candle in the base. Add 3-5 drops of essential oil mix on top of the burner and enjoy the experience! It is not necessary to use water on top of the burner. Only burn for 5 - 7 minutes at one time. Ensure the burner is out of the reach of children and pets. Pot Pourri Sprinkle a few drops of your favorite botanical collection Safety Caution Protect close surfaces and all polished surfaces, do not use the burner near curtains and fabrics. Always use wax unscented candles which have metal container to prevent the spread of wax over the base of the burner. Never leave lit candles unattended and always keep out of the reach of children and pets.
