Guest guest
Housewarming Presents Whenever relatives or friends move to a new home, I give them a housewarming gift that has special significance dating back to olden times. I start with a medium-sized basket (often a find from a local thrift store). I lay a new dishcloth in the bottom of the basket, letting the ends hang over the basket s sides. Then I place inside a bottle of wine, a loaf of fresh-baked bread, a box of salt, a candle, and a jar of sweet basil. I attach a note that explains: 'Wine, that thou shalt never thirst, Bread, that thou shalt never hunger, Fire, that thou shalt always walk in the Light, Salt, that thine foundation may never tremble, Basil, that harmony shall fill thine home.' Another dishtowel goes loosely on top, so consider the gift wrapped. It makes a great present for new couples and new babies, too. How expensive you get depends on how far you want to go with the wine and trimmings, but I can usually do this for $10 to $20. ~ Author Unknown ~ The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.~ Albert Einstein ~ Check Out My Groups: Everything Natural http://health./ Everything Magick EverythingMagick/ -- Version: 7.1.385 / Virus Database: 268.4.5/322 - Release 4/22/2006

Guest guest
You can get a med or lg sized wreath (i prefer the grapevine ones). Get a length of ribbon (something to match their kitchen)ant wide space wrap it arond the wreath, at the top attach a bow or a knotted cord ect, then with wire or more ribbons attach little tea samples, coffe samples, kitchen utensils, teaball or what ever small kitchen things. You can use tea towels. oven mits, pot holders ect. You could also use as garlic ropes on the wreath or strings of hot peppers. you could also buy a square grater and put kitchen utensils it with some cinnamon sticks and top with a bow. Guest guest
We have lots of grapevine cuttings here on our homestead and wondered if anyone has a guide as to how to make the wreaths? I am the worlds worst crafty person so I need directions or a guide of some sort! <grin> Carla ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - ladyfire_26101 You can get a med or lg sized wreath (i prefer the grapevine ones). Guest guest
I tried to make one a long time ago, and what I did was to soak the vines in water for a couple days to make them more pliable. Then wrap them into the shape you desire, and tie them with either smaller portions of the vine, or some natural juke or twine. Hope that helps Blessings Ani - Carla Mathews Tuesday, May 09, 2006 9:25 AM Re: Re: Housewarming Presents We have lots of grapevine cuttings here on our homestead and wondered if anyone has a guide as to how to make the wreaths?
