Guest guest
A BASIC OBSERVATION: People get gum disease, tooth decay, and tooth loss because of many of their innocent self health-care choices. 98% of the treatment most dentists offer is repairs. Our aim should be to not need these 'repairs.' To preserve your dental health and prevent the need of these repairs, a health-oriented dentist would have a program, The Bass Technique, for example, to have patients learn how to keep their mouths free of gum disease and tooth decay. The dentist would have - as we did in our practice - a nutritional program to help people to better dental and general health. A great deal of Cosmetic Dentistry today is like building mansions on marshes. We need a really healthy foundation for the lasting results we want. Whitening teeth by bleaching makes the tooth enamel microscopically porous - and we see these 'whitened' teeth staining more easily - and of course, this means more "treatment" by the dentist. We're retired now, but we continue to produce our patient newsletter, "The Holistic Dental Digest PLUS" - and we'd be pleased to send you a free sample copy if you reply with your street of POB address - reply to jmittelman (AT) nyc (DOT) rr.com Jerry Mittelman, DDS, FAPM
