Guest guest
Hi Jack, Thanks for writing. That's why I wrote, I know there are alot of smart cookies on here. I wish I could just walk away. (from the sweets) A few months ago I was doing pretty good with my diet, but this last month has been terrible. It is not so bad if it's not in the house, but that is mostly what my husband gets. This sick and tired feeling I've been getting after eating is just in the last month. I wish there was a practitioner close by, but there isn't. The guy that recommended the herbs I have assured me they were ok to use while nursing. I'm supposed to be exercising too, but never have the energy. I had tried rebounding a few months ago, because I heard that gets the blood moving, but when I do it, I feel like my insides are going to fall out and also feel like I will lose my bladder, so I stick to walking and stretching, but that is once in a great while. So I will see what others have to say and try to fight these cravings. Burping up fish taste is a common side effect of taking fish oil capsules and is not a sign of a bad product or not absorbing it. Take it with a meal, preferably one that has some fats in it and that should alleviate the burping. sue

Guest guest
Hello, My zip is 17038 and the city nearest is 17042 & 17046. I would be willing to travel about 20 miles or so, my husband would have a cow though because I m sure they are expensive. That is why I want to take care of it myself. He doesn't understand what my problem is with regular docs. I have been pleading with him for years to eliminate junk from the house or at least hide it, mostly for the kids. That is all they eat. You know if it is here they know and that is what they want. He doesn't relate any of our health problems to sugar and junk food. If I don't like it, don't eat it he says and it is up to me since I am the mom to figure out some healthy snacks and meals they will eat. I believe they would eat healthier if the junk was not here. Sure they would be whiny for a week or two, but once they realized the junk wasn't coming back, they have to sometime, right. He does all the shopping and he lets my 4 yo pick out the stuff. Yes, he listens to him, but not me!! Guest guest
Melanie, Have you tried doing Yoga??? I would recommend doing yoga. I bought a Yoga DVD by WaiLana and she's great. It only takes about 30min and I feel great after! Maybe start with a little Yoga to get your feet back on the ground! Guest guest
Yes, I used to love yoga. I have two tapes, but the vcr is in my son's room now. Some mornings there is a show on tv doing it. I wish I could get back into it. I did feel good doing it. Thanks. It's good that you want to take it on and face what is going on =). Just keep at it, and I'm sure you'll find something. One other thing is that craving sweets alot of times can come from heat in the stomach channel. Sometimes drinking mint tea when you get a sweet tooth before you eat sweets can lessen the craving. Sweets in general are damp and add heat, which fits with them contributing to weight gain (that's what dampness does). A good way to work with this is keep track of what you eat, and slowly change to a diet that's where you want to be. Big and sudden changes almost never last. Keep this in mind, even though your diet will not be healthy for a long time, ask yourself, is my diet healthier than it was a week or a month ago? If it's yes, then consider it a success, and know that you are moving in the right direction =) Anyways for the list of providers. I found several so I am just going to post what zip they are in. Let me know which zips would work the best for you and then I'll send you back the names and other contact info. Sometimes you have to look around, my Dr charges about $25 a week, for fomula and for an appt every two weeks. Be careful about finding a really good deal, because often times people charge what they are able to charge, and if they are not charging very much, they may not be all that good. That's just a general rule, you may find exceptions. I think about $40 to $70 is a good price for a half hour office visit, and about $20 to $30 for 2 weeks of herbal formulas seems fair (of course depending on how rare or expensive the individual herbs are). Sometimes practitioners will work with you if you tell them you can't afford too much, but you would like to get some treatment (such as substituting less expensive herbs that work as well or almost as well as more expensive ones). I think about $40 to $80 is a good price for acupuncture. Maybe some others will have some input on what they pay, and what is a good price to them. <= 65.31 miles => Fairfield, PA 17320 USA <= 21.59 miles => Harrisburg, PA 17110 USA <= 17.45 miles => Harrisburg, PA 17112 USA <= 33.60 miles => York, PA 17401 USA <= 31.76 miles => York, PA 17402 USA <= 56.26 miles => Gettysburg, PA 17325 USA <= 17.45 miles => Harrisburg, PA 17112 USA <= 25.64 miles => Lancaster, PA 17601 USA <= 45.89 miles => Carlisle, PA 17013 USA <= 19.35 miles => Middletown, PA 17057 USA <= 65.31 miles => Fairfield, PA 17320 USA <= 24.43 miles => Marietta, PA 17547 USA <= 56.26 miles => Gettysburg, PA 17325 USA <= 59.92 miles => Orrtanna, PA 17353 USA <= 33.94 miles => York, PA 17403 USA <= 41.32 miles => Bloomsburg, PA 17815 USA <= 25.64 miles => Lancaster, PA 17601 USA <= 21.59 miles => Harrisburg, PA 17110 USA <= 50.41 miles => Hanover, PA 17331 USA <= 9.34 miles => Palmyra, PA 17078 USA <= 33.92 miles => York, PA 17404 USA <= 25.64 miles => Lancaster, PA 17601 USA <= 33.94 miles => York, PA 17403 USA Just reply to this and delete out the ones that are too far away and then I'll send back the contact info =) Good luck, and let us know what other questions you have! Harrisburg is a little further, but they might be worth checking out. Thanks for the encouragement. I did pretty good today. Just make sure to start out simple enough that you can keep doing it and get in the habit =) The reason I have seen that most attempts or programs like this fail is they are either too aggressive or too lax and don't really involve change, but with what I sense about you, you might be a little too hard on yourself, and try to attain perfection in a short time frame. I would say keep doing what you're doing, take time to congratulate yourself for the small everyday things =) > That is so hard for me, but I know I will feel better and be a > better example for the kids. Are there any key questions I should > ask them? What I like to do is ask them a question that I know the answer to, and see how they answer it. You can focus a lot more energy on their mood, personality, sensitivity, depth, ect ect, if you already know the answer. You might explain some of your situation to them, and ask them what they can do for you, and how they would do it, and while you're doing this, just make a note if you feel it ring or resonate with you. Just come up with a few things to say, and let the conversation flow to wherever it goes. After the convo you could write down what you liked and what you didn't (so in the end you don't get them all confused). If you have a preference for herbal medicine or acupuncture or both, that might be a good thing to ask about too. Sometimes it is useful to ask how long they have been in practice and what kinds of things they specialize in, or regularly treat. The main part I would say you are looking for is someone who has a good knowledge of what they are doing and can apply it, but more importantly if you get along with them in a way that will keep you going back to them, and keep you healing. Guest guest
I have had many people tell me they can't do anything for their health because they have xyz and nothing can be done for xyz or that they can only do abc because only abc works on xyz> Thank you for your kinds words. And I do agree with the above statement. I have fibromyalgia, which means that I hurt and the doctors don't know why...lol! I don't like labels anyway. Common sense tells me that if I eat correctly, exercise and take supps/vits/herbs/teas that work for MY body, I can control the level of pain. If you want to feel better, you can. ~Rocky
