DOOMSDAY VAULT UNVEILED - ARE POLAR BEARS GUARDING THE VAULT? http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=99355

This morning, I experienced several moments of synchronicity over my morning coffee. I would like to share a message from a dear insightful and enlightened friend. My friend lives in eastern Canada. The subject of the post was ... the 'Doomsday Vault'. A topic now being covered in the news. My friend presents some interesting points here as a lead-in to an in-depth report by the BBC on the Doomsday Vault (below). My friend wrote: Sometime in 2004-2005 it was announced that Norway was setting up a "Doomsday Vault" although they didn't label it as such. It was proposed to be built in some remote northern area, and here is the crux, to be guarded by polar bears. lol Seriously, they mentioned words to the effect that there were no worries about vandalism or anything because the only thing around the area were polar bears and lots of them. At the time I though interesting, a little comical, but interesting. Then came all the talk about Global warming, accompanied with graphic video of those icebergs melting and stories of the plight of the polar bears. I thought this was curious because who would now guard the Norwegian repository? lol But, back to reality! In our own neighborhood we have been made aware of power requirements for hydroponic plant growth. For some time we had been experiencing local brown outs then occasional temporary blackouts in our immediate neighborhood. The cause: the transformer on the pole was overheating and the thermal cutout switch was tripping. As the beast cools, the circuit resets itself. Well, would you know it, the residence a few houses from ours had recently been sold. The new owners had immediately "covered" all the windows and parked a beat up wreck of a car in the driveway. Although these new owners had paid an enormous sum (I think it was a neighborhood record) to purchase the house, they rarely were seen there. Purely by chance in speaking to a different neighbour across the street from this recently sold house (which is how I found out about the covered windows etc) I heard the curious phrase come up. "Grow op." Ah, finally it all made sense. The changes in the house, the abandoned car (to look like someone actually occupies the house) the brown outs, the necessity of replacing the transformer due to over heating, even though the transformer had been sufficient for 40 years including the Air Conditioner/ Heatpump craze that the neighborhood went through some 25 years ago. Back to the International Space Station: Why, I asked myself, would they need so much power on the ISS? Why enough for a small city (I read somewhere it was enough to power over 300,000 homes)? Unless, they are powering grow ops. Not for Cannabis but rather all species of flora. Makes sense now. ***** Here is the actual BBC article my friend was referring to ... covering the subject of the Doomsday Vault. Do some believe a catastrophic event is on the immanent horizon? Many of us have been receiving the distinct feeling (for some time now) the 'Powers That Be' are just not telling us quite the whole story. Is Planet X related to this in some way? And, let's not forget the importance of the polar bears in this whole equation. lol More mysteries on the way soon. Stay tuned to RMN. Ladyhawke ***** 'Doomsday' vault design unveiled By Mark Kinver Science and nature reporter, BBC News The final design for a "doomsday" vault that will house seeds from all known varieties of food crops has been unveiled by the Norwegian government. The Svalbard International Seed Vault will be built into a mountainside on a remote island near the North Pole. The vault aims to safeguard the world's agriculture from future catastrophes, such as nuclear war, asteroid strikes and climate change. Construction begins in March, and the seed bank is scheduled to open in 2008. The Norwegian government is paying the $5m (£2.5m) construction costs of the vault, which will have enough space to house three million seed samples. See inside the Svalbard International Seed Vault The collection and maintenance of the collection is being organised by the Global Crop Diversity Trust, which has responsibility of ensuring the "conservation of crop diversity in perpetuity". "We want a safety net because we do not want to take too many chances with crop biodiversity," said Cary Fowler, the Trust's executive director. "Can you imagine an effective, efficient, sustainable response to climate change, water shortages, food security issues without what is going to go in the vault - it is the raw material of agriculture."
