Guest guest
I think the "seats" that being the upper shelf on shopping carts must be filthy beyond belief. In the course of a day, how many unsanitary little bottoms are placed there and which may dribble fecal and urine. I try not to use that top shelf of the cart, just to be on the CLEAN side. .. Guest guest
Some stores now have sanitary wipes for us to use before we handle the carts but many times i just use my reusable grocery bags (so not to use plastics) rather than the cart when i go out for food~ Hempress ---- JazziDJess 02/12/07 23:28:43 Re: Fwd: Shopping Cart Handles Have More Germs Than Publ... Guest guest
Since you most likely shop at the same store most of the time, just go let the management know you are going to do this~ Hempress ---- linda 02/15/07 23:06:23 Re: Fwd: Shopping Cart Handles Have More Germs Than Publ... Guest guest
My own thought on germs, although it might behoove one to do these avoidance techniques, is that the germs do not cause disease. If the germs cause disease, you already have disease--possibly malnutrition--or some other deficiency either genetic or that you let occur out of ignorance and bad habits. Is there any germ that mere contact with absolutely everybody gets? If not why not? One of the reasons it is said that kids get so many diseases is that parents "keep out of playing in mud puddles." They get sick because their immune systems are not given a chance to develop. Mind you, I'm not grabbing the toilet seat, or flushing the urinal (a lot of guys out there can't seem to get it all in the urinal evidence the puddles in front), and then licking my fingers. I'm happy to see the light sensor activated flushing mechanisms. Nor with shopping carts. And women's purses I don't touch anyways---fraid of getting hit with it. But this "fear" of germs is what led the world to vaccines, and continues to validate the germ theory of disease. - HAH Friday, February 16, 2007 1:17 PM Re: Fwd: Shopping Cart Handles Have More Germs Than Publ... Guest guest
I dont have a fear of germs, for i always allow my dog to kiss me in the mouth and i work in the children department of our local library where books are very dirty with germs, but i really don't like handling cold steel cart handles with sticky stuff on them when i go shopping nor do i care to touch bathroom faucets or door handles, plain and simple:) I also dont care to handle serving spoons at the Raw Food salad bar where i eat, so i make sure i wash my hands before i eat~ I see myself as mindful of germs, that's why i take precautions not run from them~ Hempress ---- Ed Siceloff 02/16/07 10:59:10 Re: Fwd: Shopping Cart Handles Have More Germs Than Publ...
