A Codex Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplement Guidelineadopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission in Rome in July this yearsays just that. On the other hand, Codex has consistently refused to get a handle onthe most widespread and mind boggling experiment endangering not onlyworld food safety but the sustainability of agriculture itself - thegenetic modification of our staple foods. The experiment has beencovertly pushed into the field and into our kitchen by the giantbiotech companies. There is no international convention to labelgenetically modified foods at consumer level, much less toscientifically evaluate their consequences for our health. Studies arerigged by industry and obligingly endorsed by Codex. When the UKcommissioned a full review on the effects of the consumption of GMfoods, results were so bad they were suppressed and the researcherdismissed. Dannemann, director of the National Coalition of OrganizedWomen points out the great contradiction in the actions of CodexAlimentarius. On the one hand we see a "warning" on simple and clearlyvital nutrients, on the other we witness complete complacency ongenetic modification. A scientific experiment, to merit that name,needs a control group. There is no control for the geneticmodification experiment... CODEX has notchallenged the safety of the most mind boggling, paradigm shifting newFOOD technology of this epoch (including concerns about cloned beef,unlabeled at the consumer level) yet, it pays inordinate attention tovitamins. You must ask WHY Why is the attention on the safety of innocuous vitamins and not GMOfood? Why? Health advocates, anti-CODEX, CAFTA, NAFTA, FTAA, WTO activists whoare addressing some amorphous entity "out there" fail to focus on thecorrect target. The target is the United States. The United States is covertly incharge of CODEX. You must realize who is in charge when the stepsleading to labeling of US based patented GMOs have not progressed in10 years amid the erstwhile cries of EU. Currently still no progress;still no labeling and, what's more, it is now too late. The EU hasbeen infiltrated and polluted as part of a strategy called "AcreageConversion" by Monsanto. Why did Congress pass CAFTA with its phytosanitary rules? Why? Becausethe US must appear to join the organizations it creates in order totake charge of managing world trade. Why is Mike Taylor's (Monsanto'slawyer who revolved in and out of the FDA as assistant to DavidKessler and brought GMOs to world prominence) wife, a delegate onCODEX dietary supplements? Because of CODEX non-labeling of GMOs, 185 million acres and more havebeen covertly planted around the world. It is my intuitive belief thatwe threw European bio pharmaceuticals (German model) the vitamin bonein return for our continued dominance over non-labeled GMO foods whichis the bigger piece of the pie (although most corporations, foreign orotherwise must work closely under US patents). Why is there a State model bill initiated by thenational, DC based, corporate run legislative council, ALEC (seeALECWATCH) running across the nation that takes away local control ofagricultural seed? Dietary supplements, enzymes, etc, are increasingly being made fromGMO sources and with genetic engineering technology, unlabeled.Without Source labeling you will never know. Begin shining theflashlight on GMOs by DEMANDING SOURCE LABELING, in particular, theuse of genetic technology or food source of GMO foods. It is verydeceptive to expect people to buy "natural" vitamin derived from GMOsources to cure disease "naturally" when GMO technology is considereda hostile violation of natural law. The conflict of interest is clear. CODEX, with regard to Vitamins anddietary supplements, is pulling off a huge deception and distraction.Bio Pharmaceuticals, Biotech Corporations are behind these initiativeswith the complicity of Congress and the administration. The UnitedStates intends to own the entire world food supply. Now, that is amajor national resource. Try to stop that! My intuition is that the only way it will be stopped is by natureHerself... a global agricultural holocaust … in the form of soybeanrust ... ecological chaos (i.e. monarch butterfly), etc. I point outthat if biotechnology is really science which is their clarion call,then where is the "control group"? It is scientifically imperativethat the scientific model be adhered to. We must insist on adhering toscientific methods. DEMAND THE CONTROL GROUP. I recommend that the world biotech control group be AFRICA Let's make a sustainable AFRICA, the world's GMO free zone in case ofan imminent agriculture collapse (IAC) caused by this highly riskytechnology. In addition there should be sub zones all over the UnitedStates, in every state … that is local, sustainable, organic farming.These should be the control group and subsidized by government andBiotech industry. As well, the land grant University must be funded aswell as the new biotech departments. We must keep traditionalagriculture interest alive. Did you know that 90% of Iowa soybeanfields are now genetically engineered? What will happen to our foodsource with IAC? Think about it as you swallow the GMO pill!
