It's time-lapsed video footage of plants for sure and several

plant species show their fanciful flowers opening up and closing

during the 24-hour cycle, although some species did not look like eyes

to me while others did.

Come on. It's computer generated and not all that well... trust me. I worked

at Nickelodeon for 8 years.

Let me say that many flowers open and close...such as certain day

lilies and others, so opening and closing of flowers is not unusual at

all. Perhaps a few plants at the beginning looked a little bit

unusual, but much of it was in fact simply time lapse of real flowers,

leaves and plant tissues, I suspect mostly tropical plants, since in

the tropics there are thousands of strange species with peculiar

looking flowers, glandular hairs on various parts, protuburances,

leaves, seeds, etc. I noticed several orchid species and water

lily species in the video---they were real.

I have seen time lapse video years ago of plant growth movements

and the plants look drunk as they grow upwards in a kind of circle

moving back and forth, back and forth. Under time lapse, many

plants can look strange or weird to the average person.

FYI, I spent 15 years at 3 universities studying plant biology

from field trips all over North and South America, studying genetics,

systematics, morphology, reproductive biology, phytochemistry,

sectioning plant tissues, and lots more. So I would say with certainty

that much of the video was real time lapse! Go out in nature

especially in the tropical ecosystems and you will encounter all kinds

of weird looking organisms. Thousands of orchid species and several

were in teh video.

There is camera movement... like pans and zooms going on, which of course you

can not do in time lapse. I can't spot one clear example of time lapse

photography.

Anyway, I found the company that did the work. Now I know why it looked

familiar. They did work for Nickelodeon. Scroll down on the list on the

bottom left to Nicktoons ID's and play the quicktime movie-01. Computer

graphics are amazing aren't they?

Rolling over the list advances it and the last item on the the list is

nicktoons_ID...3 down from MTV_Japan. They made promo spots for Nickelodeon
