Guest guest
Can I get suggestions for supplements that aid in digesting dietary fats? I have come across Lipase enzymes, pantothenic acid and taurine. What else?
Guest guest
It seems to me that I've read that herbs that are commonly used as the spice with a particularly fatty food also aid in its digestion. One of the things that comes to mind is fennel seed. Its often found in sausage. In terms of fennel, I read, and tried, a tea made with fennel. The way its to be done is to steep one teaspoon of fennel seed into a cup (6 ounces) of hot water. You boil the water and pour it onto the fennel. Let that steep for 5-10 minutes. You drink a teaspoonful of that infusion every hour. It will help you to burn fat, it will also help with metabolizing fat with a meal. Check it out for allergic reaction first in a small way. And do not drink the entire cup at once. Just one teaspoon. - Paul Sunday, January 07, 2007 6:01 PM I've been told I have a problem digesting fats. Guest guest
Paul, cholegogues (usually bitter herbs) stimulate bile flow; the bile contains enzymes that digest fats. Liver flushes work marvelously for a lot of people because they increase the potential for bile flow by removing blockages in both the liver and gall bladder, which has to store the bile for quick release into the food and do the fat digestion. That said, I've have a lot of success with enzymes too. Lipase is the enzyme that digests fats; there's some in the BlockBuster All Clear that we use for circulatory disorders, blood coagulation, fibrosis and clots.
