Guest guest
This is also the reason (Sir) Paul McCartney is boycotting China~ So to everyone here, anytime we buy goods made there, we are giving the Chinese money to buy Fido as food, not food for Fido~ It's also happening in the Philippines~ My neighbor, who happens to be born on the same day and year as me, told me she has eaten lil Kitty before while growing up in the Philippines. But they are torturing, then eating St Bernards because it makes Asians more horny?? But wouldn't they want to curve their sexual appetite because they are so overpopulated?? They should be eating Prozac (SSRIs) instead!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4476664.stm ---- NEWS FROM THE TIPI 01/05/07 12:48:30 Re: I was snooping around on Snopes.com and found this to be true?? Guest guest
I live in China. When I visit the zoo, there are most breeds of dogs in cages just the same as other animals. Alsations, dalmations, and mostly big dogs. The Chinese have only small dogs as pets, because everyone lives in skyscrapers with no garden, and nowhere to walk a big dog, so all their dogs are cat sized. And yes, dog meat can be bought in the market alongside the pork beef goat and chicken.I have now reached a stage of not actually gagging when I visit the market!! Guest guest
Someone is in another world I think. Allied with N.Koreans in Korean war. Had the equivalent of a civil war that brought Mao Tse Tung to the fore. At one time they were on the verge of war with the Soviet Union. They threaten war with US should the US jump to defend one of the islands off of the Chinese coast that claims independence from China. Author of the book "The Art of War" was Chinese, if I remember correctly. Maybe the statement was intended to humor. War would actually solve a problem in their country. Guest guest
MLK, Jr used to say: Hate the Segregation, Love The Segregationist. Of course we can't hate the Chinese for eating dogs. Plus, we are no better, so it would be hypocritical. But that should NEVER mean accepting such inhumanity and brutality. Those animals cannot speak for themselves. I mean, every single nazi wasn't a bad person, they were just following orders. But that doesn't mean anybody should have just sat back and had compassion for the holocaust. What is wrong is wrong, and what is happening to these animals is extremely wrong and cruel. It's not a matter of learning to accept it, just like the world didn't just learn to accept Hitler's cruel actions and the North didn't just accept the South's. Guest guest
I teach English here - I am on the Island if Hainan.I think any discussion of China's rights and wrongs must ignore history, as things have changed completely in the last 20 years, and we should look at today. Compared to America, China allows more freedom to people, causes less pollution and environmental damage, uses less oil, has less people in prison, whilst housing a population over four times that of America.I believe that we have been mind controlled to consider all people in one nation as if they were the same. There might be one man in China who raises St Bernard's for food - there might be one company in America that raises cows for food, and in doing so causes starvation of humans in another country, destroys old growth forest,.and..............we could go on forever......., but we don't do this, do we?None of this has much to do with health and healing!!Best regardsDavidNEWS FROM THE TIPI <cherokee419 wrote: David, would you care to discuss China’s Human Rights Practices and Treatment of Falun Gong Practitioners [Chinese do not make war] ... Guest guest
I agree that while this has not a lot to do with health and healing (china's policies, that is), China is doing some amazingly smart stuff by living as if we have a limited supply of resources, which we DO, unlike Americans. We can learn a lot from their recent policies, totally! :-) They will be the world power as a result, when America finally realizes it's falling and not flying. ;-) Actions have consequences, and the Chinese practice an understanding of that in terms of fuels, rations, resources. We do not. We act like it is unlimited galore. For that America will pay, surely. :-(

There might be one man in China who raises St Bernard's for food - there might be one company in America that raises cows for food, and in doing so causes starvation of humans in another country, destroys old growth forest,.and..............we could go on forever......., but we don't do this, do we?None of this has much to do with health and healing!!Best regardsDavidNEWS FROM THE TIPI <cherokee419 (AT) comcast (DOT) net> wrote: David, would you care to discuss China’s Human Rights Practices and Treatment of Falun Gong Practitioners [Chinese do not make war] ... DON'T ANSWER THAT !! You are in China ... war does not just exist on fields .... moving right along here what do you do there please ?? I have an aquaintance who just returned with his wife to states,I did not think he was going to get out of there in one piece. - David West Friday, January 05, 2007 5:28 PM Re: I was snooping around on Snopes.com and found this to be true?? I live in China. When I visit the zoo, there are most breeds of dogs in cages just the same as other animals. Alsations, dalmations, and mostly big dogs. The Chinese have only small dogs as pets, because everyone lives in skyscrapers with no garden, and nowhere to walk a big dog, so all their dogs are cat sized. And yes, dog meat can be bought in the market alongside the pork beef goat and chicken.I have now reached a stage of not actually gagging when I visit the market!! We have to have compassion for cultures different to our own, and remember that the Chinese do not make war, so we take the good with the bad.David.NEWS FROM THE TIPI <cherokee419 (AT) comcast (DOT) net> wrote: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! - HAH Friday, January 05, 2007 11:38 AM I was snooping around on Snopes.com and found this to be true??
