Guest guest
Is this the green we see on the wood about four feet up in the basement? The builder said it was to keep termites away. But then again here in Georgia we have to have a termite bond everyyear. What is the composition of the green treated wood? Judy - JazziDJess Wednesday, December 27, 2006 12:28 AM All New Houses: POISONED I have watched many new houses being built, from bare ground to finish. I just want to comment here on ONE aspect of that: the intentional POISONING of the structure and ground around it...in order (apparently) to satisfy "termite protection" provisions of Insurance company. Here is what it amounts to: after the concrete is poured and the floor and the walls are put up, a truck comes by and a crew sprays a deadly smelling and WARNING PLACARDED compound onto the new house. I was flabberghasted when I first noticed this. The next day when the crew came out to spray down the next house, I FLED the neighborhood, as I didn't want to be breathing within a mile of that spray. My guess is that: on the one hand the Insurance company requires it, and then the city does too. The Inspector, you see. They are actually living "in the past" in POISONING all new houses, but they get away with it: cause almost no one notices what is taking place. I used to be in construction and I laugh at the shoddy construction and poor materials. But those defects are not lethal. The intentional poisoning of the new houses and grounds, now THAT is something else entirely. Won't anyone else notice this, or do something to stop it? I bet if you have a new house, the seller or the builder will "assure you"...Oh NO this never happens with my houses. But, I bet if you actually watched the houses being built, every step of the way like I do, you would see that identical builder having his houses sprayed down, just as (he denies) but just as I tell you. . Guest guest
It just is not the spraying of the green arsenic on the wood that is the problem. Plywood used to build homes is also a problem. " U.S. rules allow the sale of products others ban Chemical-laden goods outlawed in Europe and Japan are permitted in the American market. Because formaldehyde wafts off the glues in this plywood, it is illegal to sell in many countries — even the one where it originated, China. But in the United States this wood is legal. But then again here in Georgia we have to have a termite bond everyyear. What is the composition of the green treated wood? Judy>> I'm guessing the "green wood" you refer to is the treated stuff (that is going out of fashion, may soon be illegal). That is Arsensic treated stuff. I don't regard it as dangerous as arsenic is not an exotic organic chemical but a metal (compound). I don't think it is going to "go airbourne" or really become an environmental hazard in your homeplace. No, the "POISON" that I referred to is the super-nasty pesticides that they routinely spray all over the base of new houses. If "green groups" were really legit (instead of being self-promotional shills making a fortune from both industry and from dimwitted dogooders), then these "environmental groups" would force the immediate end to this toxic abuse. Why not do this: when a new house is being built in your neighborhood, drive by, LOOK, keep looking. Is there a guy(s) comes by with a truck spraying crap...and a horrifying smell in the air? Remember, this is just one tiny step (maybe taking 30 minutes) in the long process of building a house. And, it clearly is a poisonous and dangerous SCAM. ..
