Guest guest
Tricia, I do not know where you are based, but I live in Australia, I have owned farms and sheep in Australia, and I have experienced the terrible suffering that sheep in Australia undergo when they are "fly-struck" in the Spring/summer months due to sweating in the folds of their skin, and droppings and urine moistening the wool. As for 'live exports', why are there not boycotts on the way that these countries like Israel kill their livestock, and all the way throughout Asia, the Middle East, and even Europe... not to mention the USA. For goodness sake - the millions that the USA spent pouring into regimes and backpockets, whilst subsidising their own farmers, and when our wheat board 'played the game' and put a coule of dollars into the right pockets, the 'righteous US Senators ' claimed foul........, because WE had the wheat contract. I am getting tired of people bucketing Australia, and now for some goose who has never been on a farm and experienced ALL the story to ,pristinely call for boycotts is a bit bloody rich, especially when those who know NOTHING of the practices carried out, and WHY, support this without question! Surely we as a race have 'evolved' to a level where we do a bit of homework FIRST before climbing on bandwagons ... regardless of how glitzy they may appear.
