NUTRITION 101: The 70/30 Diet

 

A key component to restoring your vision is nutrition. Here at Healing the Eye

we have a 70/30 diet we encourage you to follow. This program provides

guidelines for good nutrition and ways to detoxify the body that support the

overall healing process of the body.

 

What is the 70/30 diet?

 

The 70/30 diet is an eating plan where 70 % of the foods consumed are raw, live,

whole, organic foods that have not be processed or cooked. The other 30% of the

foods are whole, organic foods that can be minimally processed or cooked.

 

What constitutes organic foods and why consume organic foods?

 

According to the USDA: Organic food is produced without most conventional

pesticides, fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge;

bioengineering; or ionizing radiation. Organic meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy

products come form animals that are given no antibiotics or growth hormones.

 

Therefore, ORGANIC = NO pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, hormones,

antibiotics, dyes, preservatives, GMOs, and non-irradiated. Look for the USDA

certified organic foods label below.

 

 

This sounds like a win-win proposition; good stuff in, bad stuff out. YES! You

got it.Organic foods have a higher nutritional value. They feed your body

without added toxins. This diet aims to not only provide your body with the

nutrition it needs to heal, but minimizes putting toxins in the body that are

counterproductive to the healing process.

So, exactly what foods are included in the 70/30 diet?

 

The main type of foods in this diet are whole, raw, live organic foods. In

other words, these are foods in there natural state. Note, raw foods are

complete foods that include enzymes, vitamins, minerals and other nutritional

components that are naturally occurring and bioavailable.

 

Examples of raw, live, whole and organic foods include: fresh vegetables,

greens, herbs; presoaked or sprouted nuts, seeds, legumes and grains; raw

cultured vegetables such as sauerkraut and also seaweed.

 

A word about presoaking and sprouting (germination).

Foods that have been germinated and sprouted give us the most concentrated

natural, balanced source of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids. They

also provide abundant enzymes and bioelectrical energy. For those of you who are

taking large quantities of supplements, just switching to germinated and

sprouted foods may reduce your supplement requirements.

 

In order words, you could start saving " money " on supplements by making some

simple changes in the diet. Whole foods contain everything in balanced

proportions including life force which you cant find in a pill or capsule.

 

Soaking nuts, seeds and grain also does more than increase the nutritional

value. It makes these nutrients more bioavailable. Water removes certain

metabolic inhibitors that protect the seed from bacterial invasion and preserve

it during its dormant state. (Mother nature is a pretty smart cookie.) During

germination, the seed springs to LIFE, increasing its nutritional value and

digestibility. Inherent enzyme inhibitors, phytates (natural insecticides) and

oxalates (protective shields that prevent oxygen from penetrating) present in

every seed, nut, bean and grain are removed and predigestion occurs. In this

predigestion stage, starches are converted into simple sugars, proteins are

broken down into amino acids, fats are converted into soluble fatty acids and

vitamins are created.

 

Another excellent source of nutrition and natural detoxifying food is seaweed.

Seaweed is a very powerful detoxification vegetable. It is known to bond with

radioactive substances, heavy metals and stagnant poisons to help eliminate

these toxins. Daily consumption of small amounts increases metabolic rate,

purifies the blood, aids in body cleansing, dissolves fats and mucous,

strengthens the endrocrine and nervous systems.

An easy way to use seaweed is to crumble, mix and make a condiment of dry

seaweed and sprinkle on food.

 

WHOLE ORGANIC FOODS

 

Examples of whole, organic foods include the above and dairy, eggs, fish, meats

that have been cooked or baked. These foods are minimally processed and have no

additives, preservatives, artificial ingredients or fillers. Meats, poultry,

eggs, are free range, raised on natural pasture land or natural conditions.

Avoid feedlot and caged animals. Fish is wild catch, such as wild salmon or

sardines.

 

 

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: CUCUMBER WRAP

 

Recipe for cucumber wrap (Yield 6):

Doina Barkhaus

1. 2 english cucumbers finely chopped

2. 2 red shallots, minced

3. 1 cup shredded carrots

4. 1 oz. fresh minced dill

5. 4 oz. organic sour cream

6. dash of sea salt

7. dash of onion powder

8. sprouted grain tortillas (6)

9. alpha sprouts

 

Combine items 1-3 into a bowl and stir. In a separate bowl, mix items 47.

Combine both bowls of ingredients and stir together until the vegetables are

well-coated.

Spoon the resulting mixture onto the tortillas and add pile of sprouts to each.

Wrap and enjoy.

 

 

 

 

BREATHING OUT BLOCKAGES: THE MICROCOSMIC ORBIT

 

An Ancient Daoist Breathing Technique called the Microcosmic Orbit helps free

the body of energetic blockages in the Chakra System. Use this form of breathing

1x/day (or more) for at least 5 minutes.

 

Here's how to do it:

 

1. Sit on the edge of a chair or stool

 

2. Place your tongue on the roof of the mouth and lightly contract the Hui Yin

Point. This is a point just forward of the anus. Imagine you are trying to stop

the flow of urine. This is the way to find the point.

 

3. Imagine you are breathing in a white light that travels the body in a figure

eight. The fulcrum point on the figure eight is the root chakra. (Imagine a

point at the tip of the sacrum). Look at the diagram to the right. The figure

sits on a stool. There is a circle on that stool. This is the root chakra. This

is where the figure eight switches from the front of the body to the back and

vice versa.

 

(Breathe through the nose)

 

4. Picture a great ball of white light coming into your third eye (the area just

between the eye brows up a little further on the forehead). The light clears

the area, causing the chakra to emit a gentle violet color. The white light then

travels downwards to the throat.

 

5. The white light now illuminates and opens the throat chakra (around the

indentation in the throat). Blue light shines forward.

 

6. The light moves downwards to the heart chakra. Yes. At the heart! Green light

shines forward.

 

7. Further down, the light reaches the solar plexus (just around the belly

button). It opens up the solar plexus. Yellow light beams forth.

 

8. Imagine it traveling downwards to the sexual/creative center (just above the

pubic bone). It opens up the sexual center. Orange light radiates forward.

 

9. The light travels to the root chakra- the circle you see on the chair itself

in the picture above. Opens it up with red.

 

10. Now, the light moves from the front of the body into the back and goes out

down the back of the legs. Feel it 10/ The light comes strongly around the

bottom of the feet and returns to the front of the body, traveling UP the legs

back to the root chakra.

 

11. Again, here at the root chakra, it moves into the back.

12. Now the light travels up the back in the same manner as in the front.

13. Solar plexus. See the yellow radiate outwards from the back.

14. Heart chakra. See the green radiate outwards from the back.

15.Throat chakra. See the blue radiate outwards from the back.

16. Third eye. See the violet light radiate outwards from the back.

17. Crown. The light travels over top the crown, infuse with the constant

goodness of the source and begins to travel back down the front once more.

 

Continue to breathe in this manner for a few minutes.

The more blockages you have, the more time you might spend with the breathing.

If you are new to feeling blockages, just trust the mental sense you have that

one area of the body creates difficulties in visualizing the light flow. This is

a blockage.

 

Remember to breathe through the nose nice and slowly and keep the tongue on the

roof of the mouth and the Hui Yin lightly contracted. In this way, you allow for

the continual flow of the white light, building its intensity and maintaining

its power as you continue to pass the light through you.

 

Upon finishing, open the mouth and exhale deeply.

Visualize all blockages being released.

 

PALMING- USING YOUR OWN HANDS TO HEAL YOUR EYES

 

Palming is an excellent way to rest and heal your eyes. And you have everything

you need with you at all times!

 

All people with impaired sight strain their eyes in their attempt to see better.

Straining the eyes tightens the surrounding eye musculature. Tight musculature

reduces circulation. Reduced circulation restricts the delivery of oxygen and

vital nutrients to the eyes. As a result, the eyes become further compromised in

your attempt to compensate for already diminished vision.

 

How to do it:

1. Sit and rest your elbows on a table.

2. Close your eyes. Remove glasses and contact lenses.

3. Ensure that you are sitting straight and comfortably in order that you

do not put any undue pressure on the neck, shoulders, and arms.

4. Keep your feet flat on the floor.

5. Cup your hands over your eyes with your fingers resting lightly on the

forehead. DO NOT TOUCH THE EYES! The hands are cupped and create a space between

eyes and hands.

6. Hold this position for several minutes, breathing deeply as you rest.

Begin with 2-5 minutes per session, increasing to 15 minutes per session at your

own pace.

7. Do 2 sessions / day.

 

Once you have practiced palming for awhile, you will be better able to feel eye

strain as it creeps in. Knowing what eye strain feels like allows you to assess

your own self throughout the day. When you feel the tension, stop, take a

moment, and practice your palming.

 

 

BIOSPECIFIC DIGITAL FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT

in the treatment of

MACULAR DEGENERATION

 

For more than 8 years, Dr. Edward Kondrot, MD (H) has used Microcurrent to treat

Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) with phenomenal success. Two years ago,
