Guest guest
I smoke occasional cigars, never in my house cause it's too crappy, but mainly in truck or in backyard. Everybod I know smokes cigarettes and most of them smoke dope (marijuana) too. It's none of my business. I would smoke my pipe, but it is just too DAMNED much work, trying to keep that thing lit --I ain't smoked pipe in years now. The folks I know smoke cigarettes don't really seem happy with it like folks seemed to enjoy cigarettes back in the day. They are addicted and they smoke some cheap cigarette --trying to both recover a cigarette "with a taste" as well as to get a cheaper costing cigarette. You see, the Big Tobacco companies have worked to change the blend in cigs since the 1960s: they want to put damaging substances in them and which cause folks to become addicts. In the process, so cigarette smokers tell me, cigarettes no longer have that "natural, good cigarette" taste. Which brings me to the focus of this (unusual, in a Health forum) subject. I have read that smoking REAL tobacco cigarettes actually does have health benefits: for lungs and cancer and other areas. Here, I am guessing that say smoking 1 or 2 cigarettes a day would be the case. (Of all the cigarette smokers I know, I can think of one out of thousands of folks who consistently limited their smoking to 2 cigarettes a day). Among the odd government findings, don't they show that: women who smoke cigarettes actually have a LOWER than normal risk of breast cancer? Btw, I do not recommend that anyone start or continue smoking (cigarettes or dope or cigars or pipes). But, it is interesting to ask if smoking cigarettes (in extreme moderation) actually has been shown to have health benefits. ..
