The facts: Most cases of ovarian cancer happen in women over 60, but 10% of those are found in women under 40. You can protect yourself! Know the signs. If you have abdominal pressure or bloating, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, indigestion, diarrhea, or fatigue for more than 2 weeks, consult your doctor. Get tested. While there’s no definite test to check for ovarian cancer, the CA-125 blood test, the transvaginal ultrasound, and a pelvic exam are the best ways to screen. Start exercising. Women who spend 6 or more hours a day sitting are 50% more likely to develop the disease. Exercise 3 or more times a week to offset this risk. Consider the pill. The hormone progestin, found in many oral contraceptives, has been found to slash risks of developing the disease by up to 50% when taken for five or more years. Eat your fruits and

veggies. An antioxidant called kaempferol, found in broccoli, kale, strawberries and grapefruit, has been found to reduce ovarian cancer risk up to 40%. "Get off your ass and take your government back." ~Rocky Ward

I would highly suggest that women NOT use the pill for cancer prevention.

It can actually make you more prone to other cancers. If you need to use

hormones then use bioidentical hormones. The pill is synthetic and just not

a good choice if you are concerned about over-all health.
