The expiration date on any medication

The expiration date on any medication indicates when the ingredients have lost 10% of their effectiveness. As the weeks go by past that date, the effectiveness declines even more. Whether or not the medication is dangerous after its expiration date depends on the chemicals inside. Sometimes, when chemicals break down over time, they change into new agents that may be dangerous, but there is no specific research on which ones. Most likely, your medication will just not work as well as it should (which, of course, can be dangerous). To keep your medications at full strength for as long as possible, store them in a cool, dark place, such as a closet, but not in the bathroom. The heat and steam of a shower or bath will make them erode faster. www.QualityHealth.com "Get off your ass and take your government back." ~Rocky
