It's a heavy subject for a Monday, but a remarkable paper authored by

a St. Louis Federal Reserve analyst sounds a dire warning for the

United States: It's headed for certain bankruptcy, the paper says.

 

As stated in the paper: " Unless the United States moves quickly to

fundamentally change and restrain its fiscal behavior, its bankruptcy

will become a foregone conclusion. "

 

Politicians, of course, never tell the truth about the nation's debt

burden, regardless of party affiliation. That's because giving voters

bad news and demanding that government spending be reduced to

sustainable levels never got anyone elected.
