Guest guest
I was looking further into cognitive decline associated with human growth hormone (HGH) deficiency, in terms of diabetes because of its metabolic syndrome link... http://tinyurl.com/3xx3d (Arch Neurol. 2004) " ...those with diabetes mellitus had a 65% increase in the risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease compared with those without diabetes mellitus ....diabetes mellitus was associated with lower levels of global cognition, episodic memory, semantic memory, working memory, and visuospatial ability at baseline. Diabetes mellitus was associated with a 44% greater rate of decline in perceptual speed... " The article doesn't specify a HGH deficiency existed but the Alzheimer's protocol involves stopping the brain damage as best one can with an antioxidant regime (oxidative stress link previously established), plus rebuilding the myelin sheaths by getting growth hormone secretion to youthful levels (myelin sheath regeneration fails to occur when there is a growth hormone deficiency) and supplying adequate nutrients. This is detailed in my protocol for neurodegenerative illnesses. A probable correlation between low HGH in women and cognitive impairment appears at http://tinyurl.com/5onpf (Clin Endocrinol (Oxf). 2002) " ...the patients had significantly more symptoms of somatization, anxiety, depression, obsession--compulsion, hostility-- irritability, phobic and psychotic symptoms. " In a study on TREATING COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT using HGH, http://tinyurl.com/3l89j (Psychoneuroendocrinology. 2004) states " After 3 and 6 months of HGH treatment in the closed label phase a significant improvement of attentional performance was observed compared to baseline in the HGH group but not in the placebo group. " Given that many people are more afraid of cognitive impairment than physical deterioration, this makes a good case for at least getting rid of the metabolic syndrome, and for using the anti- aging tools generally.
