Guest guest
Preparing Herbal Medicines - Update – from a friend " So many people pick at the wrong times and devastate the crop. Sometimes, when I go harvesting in some popular places, I see that people have torn out the plant -- root and all and stepping on live plants trying to get a " better " one, or what ever. This saddens me greatly. I'm also aware that many do not offer something of themselves in return (to the 'GrandMother Plant') in a prayer of thanks for taking of a life. Of course, later on when something goes wrong in their life, they wonder why. Duh-hh!! You don't have to make it a " big " ceremony. One should be discreet about these things -- you don't have to be a " Medicine Man/Woman " to do this. Don't be phony, but honest in your gratitude. One can offer the plant -- what we as Native American Indians offer -- a small pinch of tobacco; one can offer what ever you have, i.e., water, some hair cut from your 'locks' or what is collected on your comb/brush -- (given that it's organic and not permed or colored). The best that I recommend is the traditional gift mentioned earlier, since going on a harvest is usually a planned thing, be prepared -- take only what you " need " . AND LEAVE THE PLACE AS IF YOU HAD NEVER BEEN THERE!! " Love and Blessings - Xielolixii Radiating UNCONDITIONAL LOVE & Truth To ALL who share our circle our universe, our love, our trust.
