Guest guest
One of the things that originally 'turned me on' to Chinese medicine back when I was 23 years old was a severe case of frostbite I had. I treated it with zi cao yao (lithospermum ointment) from Noboru Muramoto combined with moxa and wood ash foot baths (juniper), and completely healed it. I was told I might lose two toes by a physician. As a practitioner, I used the same regimen successfully for a young man who hiked in the Rockies and suffered severe frostbite with blackened toes after getting trapped in a cave in a snowstorm at 14,000 feet. Again, a complete recovery. Spring Wind ointment has a similar formulation. Blue Poppy Herbs also has a similar ointment, I forget the name. Guest guest
Stephen, I had a patient in clinic who had pain in the toes due to frostbite. She was from Yugoslavia and had walked through the snow during WWII and had pain in the toes ever since. I bled her jing wells in the toes, not for the frost bite but for the ear ringing and hypertension (which she would not take any meds for) she complained of. After one treatment, her tinnitus ceased in one ear and the pain in her toes went away. It was really quite a miraculous treatment. Colleen Any information on treatment of the sequela to frostbite (post 5 years) is appreciated.
Guest guest
I have found in several cases that bleeding - of jing well points and especially areas that are blood stagnant-looking - works wonders for moderate or long-standing frostbite. -Anne Jeffres In a message dated 11/6/2002 4:03:58 PM Pacific Standard Time, colleen writes: Stephen, I had a patient in clinic who had pain in the toes due to frostbite.
