Guest guest
Hi everybody, I'm wondering if any of you might know why BFC might cause spotting between periods? I made a batch of it over a year ago for my husband after he'd injured his knee. Then I tore a couple of my adductors a few months ago and decided I'd give the formula a try myself. I started taking it twice daily for two months. Though it did seem to help my muscle pulls, I had quite dramatic spotting both months. In an effort to determine the source of this unusual bleeding I started looking at what I'd changed in my diet, etc. over those two months. The only thing that stood out was the BFC tincture. So, I stopped taking it and had a normal month. For the sake of experimentation, I decided to test out the theory again this month and after 2 days on the BFC tincture, sure enough, I started spotting again. Obviously, I've stopped taking it but I'm wondering if there is a particular ingredient in the formula that might cause this to happen. I'd like to make another batch without the aggravating ingredient since I did notice beneficial effects to the torn muscle. Any thoughts are much appreciated! Thanks, Ann
Guest guest
Ann, Well, from what I can tell, I would say it might be either the skullcap or the wormwood that may be causing you to spot. But I'm not certain of this.. You aren't under any stress while taking this are you?? Skull cap is sometimes used for a sedative for menstral cramping and wormwood has been used to protect the liver from harmful chemicals and stimulate menstruation or miscarriage. This is the best I can come up with Ann. PS Nice to see you back! Suzi Ann Melin <annicola wrote: Hi everybody,I'm wondering if any of you might know why BFC might cause spotting between periods? Guest guest
Thanks for your thoughts, Suzi! Of course, there IS stress in my life but I haven't been under any unusual amounts of stress. I've taken wormwood before in other formulas so I suspect that that is not the problem. Maybe the skullcap? I don't know. Seems strange, huh? Thanks again! It's good to be back!
