Guest guest
When I eat too many walnuts my gums start to rebel, blood must rush to them, inflaming them and if I continue on eating them they will get sore, raw feeling/tasting and I will visually get red spots/sores. I can eat about a handful w/ irritiation that lasts 24hrs. If I eat more it takes longer for my mouth to recover. This is the only nut that I can think of that does this to me. Come to think about it this is the only food item that makes my mouth react. So in that sense it is an allergy/sensitivity may be more appropriate. I wish I knew the particulars, the chemical that makes this happen out of curiousity sake.
