Guest guest
Hello, My name is Kylene. I have been on the list for a long time but have been no mail for most of it. I ordered Doc's lecture and it really resonnated with me and affirmed a lot of things I already believed. I am slowly working up to better nutrition/health, but I am constantly thwarted by my husband and son's extreme pickiness so I cave in and make junk so that they will eat. (it is amazing how much it affects your self esteem when someome won't eat what you make) For a while I was buying organic fruits and veggies but the cost was breaking the bank so I backed off a few weeks ago. I am really looking forward to summer so I can grow my own. Garden boxes are top priority this spring. The reason I decided to pop up is because today I feel miserable, I think it is hayfever/allergies. Obviously I don't want to take drugs for it, I am a nursing mom of a 6month old and a 4yo so I can't afford to feel bad, I need energy. I have heard that a spoonful of local honey will help with seasonal allergies but I am having a terrible time getting a hold of some and I need some relief. What can I do? -Kylene
Guest guest
Hello and Welcome Kylene. Keep searching for the local honey. See if there is a Co-op in your area and call them, they would be the most likely to carry it. Depending on what symptoms you are having you may be able to use Aloe Gel. I use it topically around my eyes and it will dry them up immediately and soothe the burny itchy feeling. I dont know how it will affect your baby since you are nursing, but i used to also drink about 3 tblsp of Aloe gel with some juice and it would really help manage some of the sypmtoms as well. Also, if you are nursing, at minimum, you should consider at least feeding yourself organically, since this will not only help you, but all the yummy nutrients will be passed on to your little one.
