Guest guest
For cleaning I accidentally invented new solution. I put some eucalyptus and lime essential oil in a small bottle with water to spray my dog's bed and space where she sleeps. I didn't label bottle and I thought it is vinegar when i wanted to clean stove and counter top. I sprayed stove and counter top, I smelled oils and I thought I messed up. But, my stove was shining and it was so easy, I couldn't believe. And counter top was clean in a second. Now I make that all the time, and I know that eucalyptus oil is disinfectant. I switched a few months ago to a Castile soap for body in the shower and hands at the various sinks throughout the house. I switched to organic shampoo/conditioner as well (Aubrey Organics products). I'm working on switching over my laundry soaps, but haven't gotten there completely yet. :)Kelli Candace Podratz [CandaceAndBrock] Friday, March 19, 2004 1:36 PMherbal remedies Subject: Re: Herbal Remedies - Re: Old Habit s Die Hard /Candace Oh! I just came up with yet ANOTHER question for you guy/gals...what kind of shampoo/soap, etc do you guys use? I've never used all natural cleansers but that will be my next step. I'd like to make my own if possible. Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Guest guest
it is a strong disinfectant and will kill about anything; it sterilizes; it's anticeptic.. very few things live in Death Valley where it is mined. i use it to lay an edging of it around the house to keep roach type critters out and even in the house in case they get in. i use some in the laundry and sometimes in the mop water. it can be dangerous, though, as i do worry about it being continually put into the streams from household use that it could in time sanitize too much. it is toxic. keep away from children. i called twenty mule team one time and asked about it and the lady was a bit evasive, but finally said, "don't sprinkle it in your garden..you know what death valley looks like".... love.. granny lee - ELIZABETH ELLIOTT herbal remedies Tuesday, March 23, 2004 10:26 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Re: Old Habit s Die Hard /Candace A friend tol d me to stay away from borax, however Mercola suggests borax and I have some in my basement. Guest guest
There is nothing wrong with using borax alone or boosting your natural cleaning recipes. It is a naturally occuring mineral.
