I keep mine in glass with the lids that have the rubber seal ring on

them. I find they stay fresh that way for months (if they last that

long)

I would think that in paper (White, brown or any other color) most of

the volotile oils would either soak into the bag, or dispate and the

herbs become stale.

Just my two cents

different ways.. mostly in glass jars. have several appothacary type jars, but also have some in bagies stored in an air tight plastic box that have held up reall well, then some of them are still in theheavy plastic they came in. i like the glass best of all as feel that no chemicals will leach from them into the herb which is possible with plastic. but one has to do with what one has at times.

Herbal Remedies - Storing dried herb question

What little herbs I've bought from the herb store were put in cellophane by her. So, they are in that and I have some old decorative tins which stores them away. Certainly not the best, I would rather buy at the time I need them, then have alot of stuff stashed, and getting old.Hmmm, suppose I should use jars eh ? Actually some are like my cayenne. (thinking) and that's about it :)Pam****

If you use plastic bags... get the freezer protection kind.
