Hi Candance!

I think it's because people get into their minds that it's too

difficult to learn new habits. It is not just with health matters.

It's everything. I've taught and tutored children and adults and I

will take a room full of kids anyday!

Point of reference for your SIL - My mother had a heart attack when

she was 50. She swore on a Bible that she would stop smoking,

drinking, eating pork, candy and fried foods. Well, she had a

cigarette on the way out of the hospital. I'm sure she had a drink

when she arrived home and she still has not stopped eating any

garbage.

I also met the mother of one of our friends a few years back. She

is on an oxygen tank and keeps her cigarettes on top of the machine

and dares anyone to cough in the smoke filled room. Even bed-ridden

she was scary. :-)

Begging, pleading, guilt tripping, screaming, violence, crying, none

of it matters until the person gets tired of feeling however they

are feeling. Until they wake up and have that little voice that

says " Stop " it won't change. One of the hardest things in the

universe is being a witness to it.

Take care and all the best,

mjd

they NEED to get a juicer. I bet if I bought her one, she wouldn't

use it. She'd ask her doctor if it would help and then continue just

taking her meds. Hopefully the tape will help her and she won't just

think I'm a screwball; that there's some truth behind it.> I'm not

sure about her diet. I'll have to ask. My SIL is diabetic and I

told her to get a juicer " I drink a lot of juice the way it is "

STORE BOUGHT JUICE. I think she's finally considering it after I

harped on her enough about it. : )> Candace

Candance,

You are too funny! Does he know that is why it's called " Marketing " ?

Have you ever gone to AllRecipes.com? They have a link for

Ingredient Search and you can add a list of 4 or 5 items and get

recipe suggestions. It is not a health food site though and anyone

can submit their own recipes. However, each recipe does have the

breakdown of calories and vitamins.

Although I know this isn't the healthiest thing, he might eat

vegetables on top of a pizza or in a pot pie (homemade) or stir

fry. I had pizza once that did not have the tomato paste base, but

a spinach layer and then veggies on top. It had a whole wheat flour

crust with some kind of different milk. It was quite tasty.

You and I are going to have to come up with some clever ways to get

our kids to eat right. Mine is 40 though and something tells me you

will have an easier time. :-) I can't get him to drink the PP or

fresh juice. He doesn't drink alcohol or smoke, but he eats fast

food " because the guys from work went there. " (roll eyes icon) And,

if they jumped off a cliff... :-)

Keep smiling!

P.S. As far as the lung pain, are you such you haven't cracked a

rib? I have trouble in my left lung, but it happened after the

first pneumonia bout. I notice trouble getting air in deep. I hope

someone has heard of this and knows what we can do.
