The vet had her on phenobarbitol when we got her at about 1 year old. SHe was the best dog we ever had in so many ways.... Anyways, you know those mini packs of M & M's? As long as she had one a day she would have no seizures (without prescription drugs) She would squeeze the m & m's out one at a time with her paw. Now I know chocolate is bad as a rule but we had heard about this "cure of sorts" from a friend for dogs with epilepsy and it worked for the rest of her life. Go Figure!?!? Anyways I am not saying that chocolate and sugar are the way to go for man or beast, LOL just that in this case it saved my baby girl, Mitzy. If she did not get the m & m's she would have seizures most every day, with them she was fine. God Bless, Jamie in AZ
Guest guest
Pam, My opinion is that carob is okay.... Here is a recipe for you. Chocolate is a big no-no for dogs, causing terrible gastric upset and even death, Calcium Carob Cut-Outs 2 cups whole wheat flour 1/4 cup carob powder 1 teaspoon calcium powder 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 tablespoon molasses 1/3 cup rice milk 1/2 cup water In a large bowl, combine flour, carob, and calcium. In a large measuring cup, pour together the oil, molasses, rice milk, and water. Add to dry ingredients. Stir to form a soft dough. Roll onto a lightly floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. (Teddy bears are especially cute since these will be dark brown when done.) Place on a greased cookie sheet. They do not spread, so they can be fairly close together. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until crPee Tee <peetee1965 wrote: Is Carob safe for dogs ?Pam Search - Find what you’re looking for faster.
