Guest guest
I was an Electrologist for 8 yrs. It's been awhile since I have had to want to recall all the stuff around hair removal. Hair has many purposes: Most hair serves to protect, retain body heat. Eyelashes, cilia prevent dust or dirt from entering the eye and shade the eye from light. Eyebrows, supercilia do the same as well as protect the eye by forming a cushion for the ridges of the socket. Nostril hair screens incoming air, filtering it before it reaches the lungs. Scalp hair is an odornment, protection against concussion, retain body heat by sheilding from rain, snow and cold. Body hair is primarily used to protect against friction, that is why hair can occur on places of the body constantly exposed to irritation. Once long ago man was primarily covered w/ hair. Theres alot of speculation due to the fact that some warm weather peoples have more hair than cold weather climate peoples. Does that help? Pam Okay Don I am going to pick your brain...and everyone else as well.. This is odd but here it is! The human body has hair on it... we shave, pluck, wax, get laser removal, etc... I am wondering is there a real purpose for all this hair we have in all places and what the true purpose is. The hair on on head protects us from the elements but what about the rest of it... Is underarm, leg, facial, etc there for a purpose? What is the consequences of removal, both temp and perm removal... I know this is odd but I have often wondered since so many rush to get rid of it.
