Raw honey, especially from your local area has alot of benefits... Manuka honey is probably one of the best anywhere....

Greetings everyone.I am brand new to this list. I am 45 years old. I was having terrible headaches for about the past 5 years. About a month ago i started using raw honey and the very next day no headaches. For the last month not one headache. Yesterday I did some searcing on the web and I read that raw honey cured ring worm. I have been suffering from ring worm most of my life so what the heck. I put some raw honey on my ringworm and it diffently stopped the itching. It was only yesterday that i tried it so I am not sure yet if the honey will completly get rid of the ring worm yet. Also one of my hands was very dry so i put some honey on my hand and it stayed smooth as silk for about a week.

It is available where you buy your natural foods. It will say if it is

raw or not on the label. As Suzi mentioned there are health benefits in

buying local honey- thats very much bees- for those with allergies/ hay

fever. But, I would use very little of any sweetener including honey.

Yes honey does have some health benefits it's true. I can see sing it

as a replacement sweetener in some cases but not taking it as a

supplement.

I have not found any of the benefits regarding headaches etc that

Nicolas shared. I really think that there is more to the picture than

adding honey to the diet- raw or not. I would guess other things were

eliminated and perhaps he can tell us what he did specifically- like

what was he replacing (refined sugar I suspect) and in what quantity.

Also, it is not really practical to use honey as a skin moisturiser

alone- there are many other things that will do the trick naturally-

but it can be used in some skin preparations it's true.- normally in

some mixture. I can not see it doing anything in and of it self for

rignworm. i would really treat ringworm quite differently- diet,

cleansing and an essential oils blend specifically for it on the skin.

That is very effective.

As far as raw goes- yes- raw is superior to cooked but beware normally

anything you find on the shelf in a jar or a can is heated to some

extent. Other sweeteners to investigate are Stevia, Organic Agave. I

also use maple syrup sometimes. Mostly I use fruit to sweeten.

I have not used it for healing or headaches either, however one of the list I belong to use it (mostly manuka) on their livestock for wounds.... as an effective healer...

Raw honey is said to be exceptionally effective internally against bacteria and parasites. Plus, it contains natural antibiotics which help kill microbes directly. When applied topically, speeds the healing of tissues damaged by infection and/or trauma. It contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes, as well as sugars, all of which aid in the healing of wounds."
